Yet Another Update: Kicking "Tealers" Down the Memory Hole (See Below)

Some years ago, when I was doing the Flower of Life teacher training with Drunvalo Melchizedek, one of my fellow travelers shared with me that he was troubled by what he called the "Drunvalettes." The term was his own invention but there was no mistaking his meaning. He even pegged a few of our classmates with that term. He liked Drunvalo quite a bit but that there was this kind of adulation by some Flower of Life folks made him uncomfortable. He had some concern that Drunvalo might have been fostering this unquestioning sycophancy. So one day when we were enjoying a break, he asked Drunvalo very directly how he felt about his Drunvalettes.

Dru shook his head and sighed. "I just try to stay out of it," he said.

That's one approach. There's a conversation to be had, for sure, about whether ignoring the phenomenon and trying to distance oneself from it is enough. Is it necessary to more actively discourage such behavior? But I think the one thing we were all in agreement on -- Drunvalo, myself, and the gentleman who raised the concern -- was that such hero worship was not a good or healthy thing.

The term "tealer" has similarly been thrown around to describe those who've drunk the "teal-aid." Some of her more passionate and angry defenders who've posted on my blog have been quite pejoratively labeled "tealers" by other commenters. So imagine my horror when I read this in a recent TEAL post about her seminar in Atlanta.

I am struck by how much the imprint of the days of slavery still remains on some of the older buildings and railways here in town. It has soaked its way especially into the old wood that dots the brick walls. The venue for yesterday’s workshop was one such a building. It was a fitting energy, seeing as how the theme of the entire workshop was self-liberation.

This group which is being called the “Tealers” is the most open minded, eccentrically intellectual group I have ever beheld.  I think it is now my favorite part of holding these workshops.  Long-term friendships are formed.  People find their place to belong. And I get to witness the fact that this world is in good hands.  All across the globe, they form a supportive web of awakening.  They touch the lives of the people in the cities they live in.  It is like a little legion of enlightened spirits, whose practice is that of non-resistance and expansion.

You're Freeeee! Wait. Not so fast.

TEAL's posts are always a box of contradictions. The scenery is beautiful. The people are lovely. The town oozes its fetid history from every nook and cranny. Life is beautiful and filled with joy. I wander through a briar patch of PTSD triggers that hurl me into seizures and despair. My life is so rich and full that I've written a how-to book on self-love. Everything reminds me of my ritual abuse and being sewn into corpses.

And, bonus! This post comes with a healthy dose of bigotry... and, for good measure, a naked lady.

But I digress. She actually wants "tealers." It's positively Orwellian. You too can be liberated if only you will define yourself by your adoration of TEAL.

As I said in my first post on the topic, I have never seen a spiritual teacher who has so blatantly courted adulation and fostered dependency. What I've learned two posts and volumes of feedback later is that it's so much worse than I thought.

Recently, yet another TEAL related Facebook group launched: Teal Tribe Dating. That might not be so bad right? A nice little meeting place for people of similar interests under her general auspices. But then I read the copy.

Teal Tribe Dating

"Teal Tribe Dating" is a group for human beings(Well... at least in the 3D) who are single and looking for a loving relationship with a like-minded partner. Teal Tribe turned out to be an easy awesome way for people who are familiar with Teal to find their true friends and soul family, and now you have a chance to meet your true love too. That idea works by the law of attraction: The vibration in this group is high because of the high vibrational message of Teal Scott; Which means meeting high quality and spiritual-minded people. To break the ice, here is a suggestion for introducing yourself:

. . .

Favorite Teal's Video/Art/Quotes:

*To search for profiles go into the 'Photos' tab and click the desired category... [All emphases mine]

Yes, you are part of an elite group of "high vibrational" people because you like TEAL. TEAL's followers are your true soul family. And you can all bond based on your shared devotion to TEAL. You can even find the love of your life as long as it's really all about ♥ TEAL ♥.

This all looks more and more cultish by the day. I can't help thinking of the Moonies and their arranged, mass weddings.

Obviously, Teal Tribe is not a cult like Unification, Hare Krishna, or other highly organized groups. It's not a totalitarian regime. But there are definitely cultish elements. It's enough, in my mind, to be concerning. I say this, in part, because of what I'm hearing from people, publicly and privately, about having difficulty extricating loved ones or even disengaging themselves from her strange pull.

Much of the feedback I've gotten has been from people who described themselves as having been "obsessed" with TEAL, or words very much to that effect. Some said their interest moved rapidly from interest in what she was saying to fascination with her and the soap opera that is her life.

That she turned her life into a kind of reality show called Shadow House, which opened a window into her "intentional family," fed the fascination. Her life is decidedly more interesting than her spiritual teachings. It's full of sex, fights, verbal abuse, and melodrama. Some of these programs made viewers privy to things like TEAL's humiliation of the aforementioned Fallon and also of a gal named Cameron, whose major crime appears to have been that Blake was attracted to her. The fourth wall was torn down completely as viewers made the whole thing interactive. The audience participation portion involved TEAL fans taking to chat, Facebook, and Teal Tribe to verbally assault these people for their grievous mistreatment of TEAL. Anyone who questioned TEAL's treatment of them was likewise set upon by the group.

Anyone who has ever witnessed the vitriol that TEAL inspires in her fans when they seek to defend her would have to wonder just what is meant by "high vibrational."

As I said in that first post, the Fallon episode suggested the confessional element of cult behavior referenced by Robert J. Lifton, as Fallon opened himself to group abasement for his "sociopathic" behavior. As I've learned more about these Shadow House livestreams from those who've viewed them, I've realized that it fits that criterion even more directly than I'd first thought. In Shadow House events, TEAL puts her "family" members in the hot seat and scrutinizes their shadows. Any viewer of these broadcasts would become privy to very personal, private information about her inner circle. According to many accounts, Cameron was compelled to participate over her objections. It ended badly and ultimately caused her to quit the area. This description of the confession element of cult indoctrination is adapted from Lifton.

Sins, as defined by the group, are to be confessed either to a personal monitor or publicly to the group. There is no confidentiality: members' sins, attitudes, and faults are discussed and exploited by the leaders.

Closely related to the demand for absolute purity is an obsession with personal confession. Confession is carried beyond its ordinary religious, legal, and therapeutic expressions to the point of becoming a cult in itself. (Page 425.)

Public confessional periods are used to get members to verbalize and discuss their innermost fears and anxieties as well as past imperfections.

The environment demands that personal boundaries are destroyed and that every thought, feeling, or action that does not conform with the group's rules be confessed.

Members have little or no privacy, physically or mentally.

In assessing the shadows of her housemates, TEAL relies heavily on Byron Katie's "The Work" for methodology. Katie is, herself, on the radar of cult watchers and accounts of her antics certainly do raise an eyebrow. For instance, she also does a homeless exercise very like, if not identical to, the one practiced by James Arthur Ray that resulted in the mysterious death of Colleen Conaway.

I would encourage those familiar with TEAL's organization to look over some of the cult literature linked herein. These two pages include characteristics identified by a number of cult researchers: Intro to Cults 101 and Cult Characteristics. I'm not as acquainted with the inner workings of TEAL world as many readers are but even I can see that these pages point to any number of red flags.

For instance  Rick Ross claims, "Anything the group/leader does can be justified no matter how harsh or harmful." TEAL's vicious attacks on Fallon and Cameron as well as other thoroughly embarrassing Shadow House outbursts are not only justified but extolled as a virtue. TEAL is courageously showing the world her shadow side instead of hiding it like typical gurus, it is claimed.

Cults are typically formed around charismatic leadership. Lifton observed, "The guru is worshipped, rather than the principles or doctrines (on which the sect is supposed to be based)." As stated, for many of TEAL's followers, the days and nights of Teal Bosworth Scott Swan have upstaged her spiritual teachings. She has made her personal life a major focus of her work, with her Shadow House livestream events and her confessional style blogging.

The American Family Foundation says, "The group is focused on a living leader to whom members seem to display excessively zealous, unquestioning commitment." As discussed, her defenders are passionate, indeed, as I and other critics have learned the hard way.

Carol Giambavo puts it like this: "Charismatic or messianic leader who is self-appointed and has a special mission in life." To say that TEAL is self-appointed and has announced a "special mission" would be to understate her accounting. As discussed, she has described herself as a Eucharist projected here by an Arcturian panel and genetically engineered to be white and beautiful enough to be heard on "every single continent."

This, again, is the interview in which she explains in painful detail why it was so critical that she have universally appealing features. But not only is she more attractive than those poor, ugly African women, she's not like the rest of us mere mortals at all. She's not even really human.

(9:30) So I am a soul fork. What that means is from nonphysical energy -- so most people in the planet, they're non-physical energy that is projected forth into a physical human body. I am non-physical energy that is perfect-projected forth into an Arcturian body -- an extraterrestrial body. Now that extraterrestrial being has chosen to then project forth as a human body twelve times. This is the twelfth incarnation. And it's quite, it's quite funny, ironically, because before I even came down, um, there was an entire panel of beings, Arcturian beings, sixth dimensional beings, who even chose the way I would look in this life....

(16:15) I'm now three points of perspective. Most people are two. Most people are the higher self and their human perspective, two points of perspective. I'm three, human, extraterrestrial, and nonphysical.

Special. She's very, very special. She also has no idea what irony means, because there is nothing in that story that is remotely ironic.

By virtue of her specialness, her followers are also special. As stated, they are "high vibrational."

As per the American Family Foundation, "The group is elitist, claiming a special, exalted status for itself, its leader(s), and members (for example: the leader is considered the Messiah or an avatar; the group and/or the leader has a special mission to save humanity)."

You mean like a "supportive web of awakening" or a "little legion of enlightened spirits" who are devoted to an Arcturian projecting into human flesh to act as a Eucharist?

"Tealers" and "Teal Tribe Dating" members are told they've found their "place to belong" and their "true friends and soul family." It sounds an awful lot like the "love bombing" described by the Cult Information Centre: "Creating a sense of family and belonging through hugging, kissing, touching and flattery."

According to  the American Family Foundation, "Questioning, doubt, and dissent are discouraged or even punished." Or as Steven Hassan puts it, "No critical questions about leader, doctrine, or policy seen as legitimate."

Many people report having had their comments deleted from TEAL's blog, when they raised uncomfortable questions or pointed out discrepancies. References to these deletions -- or having such comments held up in moderation -- are peppered throughout the comments on the two previous posts. Notably, a frequent commenter on TEAL's blog named Lena had her account deleted with her entire comment history. When this deletion was called out in the comments on my blog and then by regulars on TEAL's blog, Blake finally responded. He claimed that it was an error on the part of an overzealous admin who did so out of love for TEAL. I asked Blake to explain how it was that his claimed no-censorship policy was never adequately communicated to the admin and why it was that so many reported having been censored. That was weeks ago. He has never responded to my query. That exchange, such as it was, can be found here.

More to the point, consider how TEAL has responded to the questions I have raised in my two posts. She has called me a "hater" who "crawled out of the woodwork" to try to co-opt her growing fame. She has accused me of causing her great emotional pain. Her posts in response to my questions serve to polarize her most devoted followers against the very act of raising questions or having doubts. It solidifies an "us vs. them" attitude towards anyone who would dare question, which Hassan identifies as one of the methods of "thought control."

"Whenever the group/leader is criticized or questioned it is characterized as 'persecution'," says Rick Ross. In TEAL's case, it's morphing into paranoia. In a recent post, she cites her critics as justification for ramping up the already very noticeable security.

I’m sure some people are wondering why I bother having security personnel at my workshops if I teach (and believe) the concept of “I create my own reality”.  So I wanted to explain it to you.

. . .

Part of the contrast involved with fame is the contrast of having “haters” and “antagonists”.  We chose the potential of this contrast before even coming into this life.  We chose it for the sake of our own expansion.  The experience of these types of interactions and people, leads to the desire and therefore creation of staying true to ourself regardless of opposition, benevolence, unity, appreciative focus and love within our own lives and within the universe.  This is part of why we chose the “fame path” to begin with over other paths we could have chosen.

Another cult indicator is a lack of fiscal transparency. As Rick Ross puts it, there is "No meaningful financial disclosure regarding budget, expenses such as an independently audited financial statement." The billboard campaign is illustrative. After a number of people mentioned in comments on my blog that they wondered what had happened to all the donations to this project, the issue magically appeared in a new blog post. (That there is a call and response thing going on between my blog and her posts has been noted repeatedly.) But this explanation was at least a day late and a buck or two short.

As per usual, there is an enormous learning curve with any new endeavor.  The first crowd funding campaign we did accomplished almost nothing.  The perks we offered turned out to be almost as expensive to create and provide as the money people were donating.  On top of that, one of the people helping with the campaign, offered a perk that wasn’t his to offer due to a copyright someone else had on his work, so we ended up being forced to pay a bunch of money to a third party person for a perk that had already been delivered.  In the end, we made too little money in profits to accomplish many of our goals.  But having learned our lesson the hard way, we are planning in the near future to start another campaign with the very same aim.

So, it would appear that TEAL's idea of financial disclosure goes something like this: All that money you all donated? It's pretty much gone with nothing to show for it. Can we have some more?

Use of "deception" in recruiting and fundraising is cited by Hasssan, Giambalvo, and the U of C, but it also kind of goes without saying, doesn't it? Aside from the murkiness about people's donations, there's a lot about TEAL's claims that raises questions. Of course, whether or not she was specially designed by an Arcturian panel is a little hard to validate one way or the other. Such "revealed knowledge" is integral to many a religious experience but the difficulty in fact-checking means we accept it on faith or we don't.

But there is also a lack of empirical proof to things like her very central claim of Satanic ritual abuse. Many such claims were made in the 80s and 90s. But TEAL herself admits that there's no evidence other than the say-so of victims like herself and claims that most of those are too terrified to come forward.

As I wrote before, to TEAL's great consternation, the FBI investigated claims of Satanic ritual abuse and found there was no real evidence. Psychologists and other experts who testified in court cases against abusers have since been discredited and largely discounted as it's come to light that false memories can be implanted during therapy. That said, a great deal of TEAL's narrative comes apart if that doesn't happen to be true. In fairness, she may believe it whether or not it's true.

When I was looking into Byron Katie for this post, I came across another troubling bit of information. Her story of awakening and TEAL's are strikingly similar. Both involve insects which inspired radical shifts in perspective during very dark passages in their lives.

TEAL's story of the "little ant" that awakened her to the awareness of life teeming merrily all around her even as she was confined to a hole by her Mormon Satanist abuser starts at about the 17:00 minute mark. The inappropriate laughter as she begins to tell it is particularly jarring.

Byron Katie's story of awakening while staring at a cockroach can be found here.

Less than two weeks after I entered the halfway house, my life changed completely. What follows is a very approximate account.

One morning I woke up. I had been sleeping on the floor as usual. Nothing special had happened the night before; I just opened my eyes. But I was seeing without concepts, without thoughts or an internal story. There was no me. It was as if something else had woken up. It opened its eyes. It was looking through Katie's eyes. And it was crisp, it was clear, it was new, it had never been here before. Everything was unrecognizable. And it was so delighted! Laughter welled up from the depths and just poured out. It breathed and was ecstasy. It was intoxicated with joy: totally greedy for everything. There was nothing separate, nothing unacceptable to it. Everything was its very own self. For the first time I — it — experienced the love of its own life. I — it —was amazed

In trying to be as accurate as possible, I am using the word “it” for this delighted, loving awareness, in which there was no me or world, and in which everything was included. There just isn't another way to say how completely new and fresh the awareness was. There was no I observing the “it.” There was nothing but the “it.” And even the realization of an “it” came later.

Let me say this in a different way. A foot appeared; there was a cockroach crawling over it. It opened its eyes, and there was something on the foot; or there was something on the foot, and then it opened its eyes — I don't know the sequence, because there was no time in any of this. So, to put it in slow motion: it opened its eyes, looked down at the foot, a cockroach was crawling across the ankle, and … it was awake! It was born. And from then on, it's been observing. But there wasn't a subject or an object. It was — is — everything it saw. There's no separation in it, anywhere.

In the midst of this experience, the four questions that would go on to define "The Work" were born: Is it true or can I really know that it's true? How do I react when I think that thought? Can I find one peaceful reason to believe that thought? Who would I be without the thought?

So, here we have two women, in the depths of despair, after years of suffering, who both realized they could simply shift their perspective while staring at bugs. It's a little coincidental, doncha think? And Byron Katie is one of the only sources TEAL acknowledges drawing from.

I still have a hard time seeing how either of these teachings differ from telling people they can heal themselves through willful denial, but that's probably a discussion for another day.

"To us it's all about truth. And we have an addiction to it. We have this absolute addiction. Worldwide addiction to the idea that we have to know what is true, which is just ridiculous. Because most of us are killing ourselves with what we think is true. So the question is why do you want truth to begin with? I want truth 'cause I think I will be happier if I have truth. Okay, well what if the truth is this and that makes you feel like crap. Does that really make you feel better? Why are we going about it the long way? Why not just decide that what matters is that you feel good? It's the only reason you want truth anyway. And most of the time when people realize that, life becomes a bit more soft. You know? It becomes a bit more about does this benefit me, not is it true." ~ TEAL

It has been suggested by many people, myself included, that TEAL sounds an awful lot like Abraham-Hicks. But TEAL says no. At around minute 20:00 in the Nova Zem interview posted above, she says she'd only learned about Abraham channeler Esther Hicks about a year before because "someone" who was listening to her drew the comparison. She gives Abraham-Hicks a pat on the head for being the "most accurate" of channelers but this comes in the midst of her explaining why what she does is so much better than channeling. She really is a higher consciousness being. She's not just channeling one, which is all we ordinary humans can do.

That interview took place in March of 2013. But Blake Dyer, who is pretty much her right hand, knew about the Abraham teachings at least as far back as March of 2011, two years, not one year before. Now is it possible that there's some confusion about the dates? Sure. Is it possible that she and Blake didn't confer? Maybe. Is it possible that it's entirely coincidental that TEAL's teachings are "effectively identical" to those of Abraham-Hicks, as a commenter noted in response to Blake? I guess it's possible. What is stranger is just how it is that we know Blake was familiar with Abraham-Hicks in March of 2011. It's because we know to a near certainty that Blake was at that time doing a lot of his TEAL promotion under the name of Jason Freedman, who wrote this comment on an Abraham-Hicks discussion forum.

Hello all,
I am a free lance journalist who is a long time devotee of a teacher called Teal Scott (The spiritual catalyst)
When I was discussing Teal's teachings to a friend a while back, they said wow... That sounds just like what Abraham is saying. So, I decided to check it out.
I love the messages of both these Teachers (which are so very similar) I can't tell you the good it has brought to my life. I believe we are presented teachers just when we need them most.

How do we know that this Jason Freedman was actually Blake? Therein hangs a tale.

Soon after I did my first post on the woman then known as Teal Scott, a gentleman commenting under the moniker Mykeyta offered some background. He had once considered her ex-husband Mark Scott a good friend. Blake Dyer had also been a friend. The friendships were strained by his growing discomfort with TEAL's many claims and their absorption in her ambition. When an opinion piece was published in the local paper, discussing TEAL's claims of Satanic ritual abuse, he was troubled by the swarm attack on the editor who wrote it and any other commenter who didn't accept her story at face value. More than one of them were evocative of his friend Blake so he came to the conclusion that TEAL's "army" was largely made up of sock puppets. In particular there are several comments in that thread by Jason Freedman. Mykeyta found that Mr. Freedman had written the "puff piece" I mentioned in that post. He also noted that the picture of Mr. Freedman looked an awful lot like Blake Dyer. He called the number listed for Mr. Freedman and found that he also sounded a lot like Blake Dyer.

I don't know Mykeyta any better than I know TEAL or Blake Dyer or anyone else in their sphere, but to me his story had the ring of truth. More than TEAL's stories do at any rate. A photo taken from a distance in front of the Great Wall of China -- a place he knew Blake had been -- and his account of vocal recognition make for an intriguing story, but they're not evidence.

Flash forward to a couple of days ago when, on my second blog post on the subject, Mykeyta recounted the story to someone who very understandably hadn't read the 1000+ comments on these two posts. Another person called Ima Guest had been having trouble posting some comments due to computer issues but emailed me something more like documentary proof that Blake Dyer and Jason Freedman are one and the same. And it all comes down to that phone number.

Here's the number for Jason Freedman:

I think it's pretty safe to say at this point that Jason Freedman is Blake Dyer.

This would mean that Blake Dyer, under a pseudonym, wrote up an interview with a former girlfriend to promote a business, Teal Eye LLC, of which he is the Director. He did not disclose his close association with TEAL or her business. Instead he posed as a fictional reporter "who writes for periodicals both nationally and internationally," but whose byline, strangely, only seems to bring up that one story in searches.

Worse, he used this fake persona, once again, to comment on the Herald Journal piece where he argued from authority as a reporter with a twenty year career. These comments appear alongside other comments from sundyer, Blake's official moniker, and who knows how many other socks.

Mr. Freedman wrote three comments in response to that column. They are the only comments he has  posted to date to the Herald Journal.

His first comment, posted at 10:25 am on Mon, Mar 28, 2011:

I'm totally appalled by the mocking and disbelieving tone of this article. "Just another reader" and "Bluto" and "DL in Den"... you are full of crap. I have worked for 20 years in investigative journalism,. I have seen reports like this one float across the desks of reporters only to be ignored because no one likes to touch these stories. Not because they are not true but because society is not ready to face the bitter reality that it does happen and did happen this time. Society's blind ignorance to this happening is why it continues to happen. I'm totally Ashamed that any of you would think this woman would have anything to gain from telling her story. Instead, she risks everything. She risks her own safety, credibility and connection by admitting these things. Women like her are the rare, brave, exception to the rule of silent victims. Anyone who does not stand beside her participates in silencing victims and therefore siding with perpetrators everywhere. Perpetrators BANK on victims being discredited as some of you have done.
SHAME ON YOU FOR YOUR IGNORANCE AND THE HARM IT CAUSES.
the only reason the columnist mentioned her book (which aside from the foreword has nothing to do with abuse) is because he saw an interview with her in it talking about the book on Park City TV. The book is the reason he even heard this story.
He admitted this himself.
I thought this editor did an injustice to victims everywhere by releasing this column with a "tale tale" tone to it.
That was the only thing "LAME" about this article.
I'm embarrassed to be human today having read some of the un supportive comments that are being written about this.

His second comment, posted at 6:57 pm on Mon, Mar 28, 2011:

I got very upset about that. I did not mean to be insulting. The issue is this... I happen to have done a lot of journalism in jails where I talked to three separate prisoners who confessed to me directly about how they would go about mentally programming children. I have heard it from the horse's mouth. Not the victim's mouths.

His third comment, posted at 9:02 am on Tue, Mar 29, 2011:

The only reason I can see for people to be so adamant to discredit claims of ritual abuse is if they themselves where practicing participants.

Mr. Freedman also wrote a letter to the editor, making basically the same case.

In response to the article titled “Claims of local torture cult got this editor’s attention,” featured March 27, I am appalled by the disbelieving tone of the article addressing the ritual abuse suffered by the subject of the aforementioned article, “Teal Scott.” I am a freelance journalist who has seen reports of ritual abuse in our state float across the desks of reporters and be ignored for 20 years. This ignorance to the validity of these stories is exactly why they continue to happen in our community. As a result of this article, I have researched Teal Scott myself only to find that she is not to be discredited. It is time that the citizens of Utah came out of ignorance about the ritual abuse (especially satanic ritual abuse) that continues to go on in the state and stood behind those who are brave enough to come out of hiding and say something about it.

If Blake and Freedman are one and the same, as they surely appear to be, that would mean that in order to attack and shame people for questioning the veracity of TEAL's story, he's adopted a fake persona and proffered as evidence prison interviews that never happened during a journalism career history he's made up. Blake Dyer has raised mendacity to an art form.

Pay attention, TEAL. That is irony.

Speaking for myself, a realization of that kind of fraud would cause me to become disillusioned. Disillusionment is painful, but I prefer it to the alternative -- believing in an illusion. I guess I'm one of those people who's addicted to truth.

I have experienced similar disillusionment. I have learned to my great dismay that teachers I have followed were not what they appeared to be and even that they were baldfaced liars. I have discovered that I was being manipulated and mislead. It was painful. It did not "feel good" to learn it. I'm still glad I learned it because it freed me up to seek elsewhere for spiritual education and guidance.

And I have felt very foolish. Like many people, I used to think that I was too smart to fall for con artists and cult leaders. I was wrong. It was humbling. But humility is a great place from which to start over.

"When I hear someone say that only stupid people fall for fraud, I feel like asking for that person’s phone number. But here’s the thing: I didn’t want to talk to stupid people, because stupid people don’t have $50,000 lying around to give me. You would be amazed at how many doctors, lawyers, engineers, and college professors I have ripped off. The bottom line is, fraud is a crime that can happen to anyone, given the right con artist and a victim with the right set of circumstances." ~ The Anonymous Confessions of a Con Artist

In the comments, following my last post on TEAL, a woman named Becky asked what I and other commenters recommended for spiritual guidance and inspiration to fill the gap left by TEAL. It was a good conversation that can be read in full starting on the first page of comments on that post. I'd like to address it here because my rather lengthy attempt to address it in the comments was eaten by blogger. But also because I think it's a good jumping off point to a larger conversation about healing after this kind of disillusionment.

I was thinking about how defensive people get on the whole Teal subject, and why that is... It occurs to me that maybe it's because in a way she gives a lot of people hope. People hear her story and feel empowered by it, if she can "beat those odds" maybe they can too.

I think they start to get angry because they might feel betrayed by Teal when the story starts to fall apart, and that hopeless feeling starts to return. That's probably a space a lot of people don't want to go back to, so they live in denial about the story crumbling, but they still have to direct that anger somewhere.

Somehow the phrase "Don't shoot the messenger" comes to mind. A lot of people are taking this stuff very personally and it might be a good idea to ask why that is?

I was just thinking about my thought process through all of this, how my emotions came into play when I was trying to figure out where I stand on all this Teal stuff.
I guess I'm asking, what else has helped you, what gives you hope? What inspires you? What's helped you grow as a person?

I'm curious about what resources you trust that you would direct people to if they wanted better themselves, but didn't necessarily know where to go?

What she is describing in the first part of that comment is cognitive dissonance and it's key to understanding manipulation and indoctrination. Leon Festinger did the seminal research in the 1950s. I touched on this briefly here, as well. Festinger theorized that people are most comfortable when their thoughts, feelings, and actions, are all congruent. Among other things, this means that we are strongly motivated to continue believing falsehoods if no longer believing them comes into conflict with life choices we've made, money we've laid out, and happiness we've attained by believing in them. So very often we will cleave to the falsehood with greater ferocity to protect our own sense of inner harmony.

I am always a little reticent to make general recommendations because there is no one size fits all when it comes to spiritual teaching. In particular, when a person is coming out of a situation where someone has been abusing spiritual authority, as I believe TEAL does, the last thing I want to do is run the risk of further over-running instincts that may be quite damaged.

I will tell readers what I tell my clients. My recommendations are my opinion. If what I say doesn't feel right for you, disregard it.

If you are coming out of any abusive situation, spiritual or otherwise, there is probably soul loss. For that I recommend soul retrieval. I had several soul retrievals with a skilled shaman. They helped me to restore parts lost to abusive teachers and healers. They also helped to restore missing parts that had left me vulnerable to such influences in the first place. They helped, period. My path takes me through shamanism and indigenous teachings so that work is a fit for me. The seminal book on the topic is Soul Retrieval by Sandra Ingerman. For more information, a good resource is Christina Pratt's internet radio show, Why Shamanism Now? The entire catalog can be heard for free on iTunes and other streaming sources. Finding information on some of the relevant broadcasts can be found by searching the word retrieval on my Celestial Reflections blog.

Another great resource for restoring the soul and repairing damaged instincts is Women Who Run With the Wolves by Clarissa Pinkola Estés. I call it, among other things, therapy in a book. It really walks you through a process. I've written more about that book and the power of story here and here.

Mostly, I recommend following your nose and seeing where it leads you. It's just a good idea to get in touch with your instincts and learn to trust your sense of smell first. Christina Pratt talks about bouncing everything off your "truth cord." It helps if you've located that line that runs right through your core.

In much of the developed world, we've been raised to think of God and the paths to God as outside of ourselves and dependent on spiritual authority. We've been acculturated to seek the teacher who speaks with certitude based on things only he or she could know and, as such, bestow upon us. But I think argument from authority is a logical fallacy and have learned to avoid such teachers like the plague. This, in part, is why the "cosmic answer lady" persona in the Ask Teal videos is something I find so off-putting. I don't trust ex cathedra teachings.

Spiritual guidance should take you inward. It should foster your personal relationship with spirit. It shouldn't be about the teacher. No teacher should be giving you answers. They should only be teaching you how to learn.

I don't recommend authors and teachers who tell you that spiritual development is simple, particularly if they give x number of steps. To quote Joseph Campbell, “If you can see your path laid out in front of you step by step, you know it's not your path. Your own path you make with every step you take. That's why it's your path.”

There are any number of authors and thinkers I could point to who delight, inform, and inspire me. Their names are peppered throughout my writings. But when I really think about what inspires me, it's not a person. It's spirit. It's my personal relationship with my guides and the pathway to the numinous that runs right up the center of my being. It's the amusing game of finding Easter eggs hidden in the most unexpected books and movies that my guides point me to. It's those moments of reverie that come simply because I am staring at a piece of art or listening to music. It's the constant reminders from the spirit world that even when I think I'm running my own life, I'm not. I'm being led by the hand by something so much wiser than I am and that it is that inner compass that has told me to pick up a certain book or watch a particular movie or go to a certain place at a certain time. I have incredible gratitude to teachers and healers I've worked with like Virginia Sandlin and Christina Pratt. But in the end what I am grateful for is that they consistently pointed me not towards themselves but towards my own connection with all that is.

Addendum: My two previous posts on TEAL are worth reading for additional background and for the phenomenal discussions that have taken place in the comments:

Who and What is Teal Scott
The Artist Formerly Known as Teal Scott

Update: "The Noncasts"

In March of this year, TEAL and her new husband Sarbdeep Swan introduced a new video series called "Tea Time with Teal" -- not Tea Time with The Swans, mind you. TEAL is still the staaahhh! Only her name can appear on the marquee. I think it's in her contract.

These weekly episodes are called "podcasts" but aren't anything of the kind. Whereas podcasts are hosted on a platform, such as iTunes, so that they can be easily downloaded, kept, and enjoyed on other devices, these are just more garden variety YouTube videos. Podcasts are designed to be accessible, easily disseminated, and portable.

Ironically (note the correct use of this word), these not-podcasts are announced only to an email list, are posted on a hidden, unlinked page on her website, and the YouTube videos are set to private. I won't call them podcasts. I have variously referred to them as: stealthcasts, not-podcasts, tea things, narrowcasts, and narrowcasts for tea-sipping pod people.

The icing on the irony cake? The second of these husband and wife discussions was about TEAL's insistence that their private life be open to the public.

These tea things have provided great fodder for discussion in the comment thread for this blog post. The conversations evolved into a regular feature I call the noncasts. These write-ups mirror the subject matter in that they report on discussions of the tea things I've had with my husband. The official title of this series is "How to Drive Your Double PhD Husband Crazy by Making Him Watch TEAL Videos."

As with the tea things, these are not indexed, freestanding posts. If you're interested, you'll have to dig for them. They can only be found in the comment thread for this post. Page searches for the words noncast or tea should get you there.

* Addendum to the Addendum: With the end of teal's marriage to Sarbdeep, comes the definitive end to "Tea Time with Teal," and, therefore, to the noncasts. I will conclude this exercise by adding to this already absurdly long post a complete list of the noncasts. I will include a link to the initial comment of each noncast, for those whose browsers can interpret that, and the page link for the relevant comments.

In those teacasts, we all got to know a third member of teal's menagerie: the frog. He emerged as a star in his own right. Calm and stoical as only a butler of such impeccable credentials can be, he kept his head when all about him were losing theirs. The frog recently launched a video channel and has begun producing videos in the odd hours, as his schedule permits. The first includes his thoughts as interpreted by his growing legion of fans. So, teal, Sarbdeep, and frog, thanks for the memories.

Further Update: Regarding Jason Freedman, et al.

This post raises a question about the odd correlation between Blake Dyer's and Jason Freedman's likeness and phone number. It took an incident in the Teal Tribe Facebook group to get Blake to address this question, but he has. It would have been nice if he'd done so directly with me, but I'll take what I can get.

What I could get was some screenshots given to me by Teal Tribe members of Blake's attempts to explain this odd coincidence, and another oddity involving a claimed psychiatrist, William Macey PHD [sic], who also bear's Blake's likeness. I have discussed this matter in the comments, but it occurs to me that it, in fairness to the reader and to Blake Dyer, it should also be placed in the body of this post.

The following screenshots are not in any particular order and vary in format, as they came from various sources in various forms. I don't actually know how the dialog unfolded. I only know that these questions were raised in the Teal Tribe group and Blake attempted to answer at least some of them.

Blake denied both knowing Jason Freedman and knowing how it is that he came to have the same phone number. He did so more than once as follows:

Blake acknowledged that the photos used by both Jason Freedman and William Macey were of him, but denied knowing how they came to be associated with either:

So, my question to Blake, which I posed down in the comments as well, is simply this. How is it that he does not know Jason Freedman? Freedman apparently did a face to face interview with TEAL. Couldn't he just ask her? And if he is in the dark about this interview with the mysterious Mr. Freedman, how is it that he promoted said article on Facebook?

Yet Another Update: Kicking "Tealers" Down the Memory Hole

It brings me no joy that I must, once again, update this excruciatingly long post. But it's recently come to my attention that teal is trying to rewrite history. Above I quoted a passage from her Korean spa post about the world-changing potential of the "Tealers." At some point between the original publication of that post and its move to her new website, the passage I quoted above was changed and the word "Tealers" removed. But the original text is still visible on the cached version in the internet archive, or wayback machine.

Here is what that passage looked like when it was originally published in 2014.

Here is what that passage looks like in the current version on her new website.

Her clean-up was incomplete, however. The word "Tealers" appears further down in the post.

  3. OT & noncast:

Life is an idea in the mind and it changes constantly - so do all appearances in the mind. Every question tries to find a stability and orientation in the constant change of aliveness and its kaleidoscope-like experiences and marks the begin of a new manifestation, a new name, a new boarder or just a new unnamed and limitless experience. Life is driven by you, given meaning by you or emptied by you. striping away and filling is all thought and done by you. To look for a savior and director outside of you or to ask another human being for the meaning and purpose of life is you playing hide and seek with yourself without ever taken off the blindfold. And you are not aware that it was YOU who gave that other person its meaning - a guru, a master or whatever. So if you filled that person with meaning, why don't you fill your own life with meaning yourself? - ah damn it, I recognize my play with Teal.

Follow your bliss was written in every book I know as my guideline. I don't care who came up with it (although I know now - thanks LV). Always loved it and understood it in my own way - that's all that matters. As far as I am concerned it is my creation by centering my chaos around it and by using it as a steering wheel through the endless ideas of life. I select a current until I change my mind again and again. Endless picks of truths in the long run but always only one in the moment. Bliss is a dangerous word and can create addicts, a resistance army and crazy ass mental concepts. For me Bliss is the moment I forget myself and my story and being interactive with senses and desires and observe a creation process without access or desire to name it or address it. Even that is already too much thought through. Bliss I experience as a aliveness without any questions. An aliveness that feels alive and that is the idle spot between enough and nothing.

why do we most of the time seeking the answers from other people? In fact there is no difference between them and you except the sureness about a current idea. I guess it is the fear of feeling responsible for feeling horrible emotions and feeling unable to control them or to deal with them. For some reasons we think that there is something wrong with us, so we give the power into the hands of sb else who we can blame for and who promises gold now or later ( : ah damn it, I recognize my play with Teal.

OT my idea of Teal and Jared and I was/is/will be always changing. All 3 of us have something in common. Being assholes for short or long time, we all wanted to be saved by sb and we all have our ideas how to live this life. We all surely have a ton of fear concepts collected over the years :D and we all are very talented in different ways and we all are driven to save the world or to fill the world with beauty or to experience the abundance of matter and adoration of human kind. The only pain I ever experienced was knighting Teal as my savior. ( : ah damn it, I recognize my play with Teal.

Right now i don't know what to be saved from anymore.
I feel a certain fairness in regards to my inner graveyard AND flower fields.
I feel a certain silence from my fears and questions.
I feel to be the mother of all meaning.

  6. Noncast: Meaning of Life, Addendum

Another point I didn't address -- because there aren't enough hours in the day to deal with all the bullshit in thirty minutes of tealsplanation -- had to do with her criticism of human egotism. I won't argue that humans are arrogant and anthrocentric but what she says here, around three minutes in, is demonstrably false.

"Yeah but the very problem with human being is that we can't transcend our perspective so as to understand other perspectives. This is what makes us so egotistical. That's why all of our stories involve someone reaching enlightenment when they're human." [smug smile directly into camera]

Leave aside for the moment that many shamanic cultures work with animal, plant, and otherdimensional teachers. She said stories so let's deal with that. Here she proves once again that she has nothing but disdain for geek culture. SF, Fantasy, Comic Books and related genres are full of heroes and wizened beings that aren't human. Often they are extraterrestrial. Superman, for instance, is Kryptonian and makes us all look like pikers.

I can think of two examples off the top of my head of extraterrestrial beings that are enlightened, or at least very wise. The most obvious is Yoda. He's a Jedi Master, for gosh sakes. A more obscure example but a personal fave would be Mother Wyrm, the gebling who consumes the mindstone taken from Unwyrm in Orson Scott Card's Wyrms.

I'm not nearly sad, loserish, or self-hating enough to be as thoroughly versed in SF and Fantasy as I could be. I bet those sad-sacks Vin Diesel and Chris Kluwe could clue us in but I don't know them.

  8. Yes, GA, it was very sad to watch that devastation, and I couldn't really sleep after that...and as per LoA all these people (250,000 that died and countless affected) manifested those waves and happy little kids on the beach were a vibrational match to that.
But I guess all that thinking of natural disasters at night ( or some say they weren't so natural, maybe OT has a few ideas on that) resulted in me finding out first thing in the morning about this monster tornado in Nebraska which happened yesterday:

    http://earthsky.org/earth/monster-twin-tornadoes-strike-pilger-nebraska

Anyone who thinks that the weather these days is just a normal cycle of change must be in denial. Guess, there is no point debating whether it's happening due to this or that. And it was very weird I remember on Dec 31, 2010 when dead birds started falling out of the sky and then millions and billions of sea creatures, mostly fish, went belly up in the following weeks and months all around the world. Something huge is happening to the weather, volcanoes and tectonic plates.

LaVaughn, add to that MR : Mars is penetrating deep into the Uranus-Pluto conflict day by day. The intensity is building over.

Fun times! Let's make the best out of it:-D I feel raw and powerful celestial energy pouring over us.

  11. Never heard about this game :D I am living beyond too many mountains.
There were so many theories and spiritual interpretations about this tsunami that I decided to never form an opinion on it other than "tragic". I was in Sri lanka half year after it and talked to many people, saw the train that was pulled into the sea overflowing with people. Tragic. A good friend was haning on to his life on a palm tree and survived. He changed totally afterwards. He said, that his priorities has shifted and his self perception and that he is so much more aware of his aliveness.
The tornado looks so scary. I personally would never choose to live in an area with this kind of killer weather.

  12. The weather is totally crazy. Talked to many farmers few month ago here in ireland. We had one storm after the other from november till april. It was ridicolous! All beaches were destroyed and shaped into something else, farmers remembered one big storm 10 years ago and that's it and they are the memory stick of nature here in ireland.
I see often airplanes above us, with the famous 4 trails which will not disappear. The weather is gloomy, nothing is moving except this week of sunshine.
Ireland was always considered very stable, you have some spring and autumn storms and that's it. The end of 2013 and beginning of 2014 was crazy.

The other reason I felt ummm...uneasy after watching that documentary, is that I've only now realized how truly tragic that was...and it's gonna be 10 years this year (talk about delayed reaction) and I remembered what I was doing then...I wasn't too far actually, well, relatively, I remember watching the news, but it felt like it had nothing to do with me, I was too absorbed in my own shit, and worrying about things like pimple eruption on my forehead right before the New Years' festivities in glamorous Dubai. Then, 8 months later I went for a month long vacation to Thailand, because I was taking advantage of the still cheap prices to stay even in the nice resorts....

  17. I totally get LV's perspective now. It took me 3 long posts of this series to digest, lots of critical thought, keeping an open mind, and assessing my own truth of what is true to me. What made the lid finally open was when LV said something to the paraphrased tune of that she had been in disillusionment and sucked into a supposed guru's organization and brainwashed. Then the floodgates of understanding came rushing forth. LV's compassion was for people no matter what "cultish like" organization they believed in, to retrieve their soul and be their own spiritual master. However, allowing guides along the way to sharpen the knowledge of their soul's journey, yet who recognize that they are only guides and not for you to follow blindly. I think this is her intent and her gaining an understanding of this TEAL thing. So LV, I finally get your perspective. At least I hope I do.

Then all of these posts resonated. I too saw this pattern in a "yoga" organization that pushed for you to achieve enlightenment and revered a controversial figure with lawsuits against him as a God. Something didn't feel right, at all. And when the "masters" of the organization did questionable behaviors and I brought it forth to my center's master, I was told it was me who had the issue and worry about myself. Not only did they keep pushing for money for levels of bringing forth the enlightened self, they started playing mind games with me and my husband to see which one was gullible enough to get the other to buy into taking the master's course which was around $10K. I left, and never came back. I was a bit taken back because as a psychologist also on her spiritual path I saw signs of psychologically disordered behaviors, and signs of mind control. It was sad that my skeptical self won out and my psychological training was right all along, and growing my own soul ground to a halt as I went into retrospection once again about this whole spiritual thing. I felt hurt, embarrassment, resentment, anger, you name it because I could just not wrap my head around an organization that purported enlightenment but was no better than the world it was trying to elevate itself from. A business shrouded under this trending money making element of enlightenment.

@me2yesu- How eloquently and intelligently put, and I learned that lesson organically and serendipitously along my way, that you are your own guru, and if a teacher does not recognize that one day you will no longer need them, run. They are all guides. Everyone is a teacher-student as one in the same. Truth is where you find it and what resonates, and that can come from anyone. However, appreciate that gift from the universe, and never revere that source of truth over oneself. However, I did find a collaborative balance with teachers/guides/and even organizations that recognize this. Adyashanti, Oriah Mountain Dreamer, and many others.

About the Arcturian thing or ET that TEAL claims to be. I have heard it said before by someone whom spoke truth on this subject alone. David Icke. I know he was kinda out there when he first appeared on the scene about what is really going on in the world, however he did have some nuggets of truth about the beauty of being human. To paraphrase, he said that as humans, do not revere any being better than yourself. If you knew your true power, you would not look at any other being that is not human above you in any way. So TEAL, if you think being Arcturian is special, go have several seats. Human is beautiful, we just haven't tapped into our infinite potential yet...

Thanks everyone for your intelligent commentary!!!

  20. Speaking of psychology of influence and Teal's appeal to so many...LV has already touched on the subject of charismatic gurus and leaders before. I just want to say, we really have to be careful and aware that there are people who have such talents naturally and some are not even aware consciously of their effect on people. But others purposefully polish and refine these skills and then we have such phenomenons as Teal Spell. Sometimes it takes a trained eye of psychologist to detect an exceptionally persuasive and manipulative personality that masks an extreme emotional coldness, an absence of empathy and remorse, narcissism, grandiose self-importance, a sense of been slighted in childhood, and in the end, a propensity to blame everyone else...

It can be fun to detect which techniques Teal uses in her campaign:

"Influence techniques vary considerably in how effective, ethical and easy to perform they are. At the easy, more ethical end of the spectrum, is affirming someone’s right to choose. This is a benign strategy which happens to have the handy side-effect of increasing persuasion. It's the ‘But You Are Free’ technique. This simple approach is all about reaffirming people’s freedom to choose. By reaffirming their freedom you are indirectly saying to them: I am not threatening your right to say no. You have a free choice.
But what if you are looking to use a little more effort to get a lot more persuasion-power? Then perhaps the disrupt-then-reframe (DTR) technique is for you.

It seems that light swearing can be useful, even in a relatively formal situation like a lecture. When you show some feeling it implies how passionate you are about the subject, the audience notices, credits you with sincerity and takes your message to heart.

Emphasising the positive can be more persuasive than pointing out the negative.

Omissions. One of the most obvious techniques of any propaganda is not presenting the whole truth. As Dr Rhoads points out, “What gives omissions their power is that often not recognised as missing by their audience.” By leaving out important information people are allowed to jump to conclusions about the evidence that is presented. The propagandist has, at no point, failed to tell the truth, they’ve just failed to tell the whole truth.

Ingroup/outgroup manipulations. This comes down to preferring ‘people like us’ over ‘people who aren’t like us’.

But effective influence and persuasion isn’t just about patter, body language or other techniques, it’s also about understanding people’s motivations."

  21. Also, so many followers praise her ability to deliver complicated material in a clear and simple way...And everyone thinks that she must be telling the truth, with such confidence and all, whereas in reality, we are getting the illusion of truth, or how LaVaughn has called it- truthiness ( I refer here to her "spiritual teachings" and not to her personal stories which are so outrageous that some might think she must be telling the truth because there is no way you'd invent something this crazy about yourself).

"People rate statements that have been repeated just once as more valid or true than things they’ve heard for the first time. They even rate statements as truer when the person saying them has been repeatedly lying (Begg et al., 1992).

And when we think something is more true, we also tend to be more persuaded by it. Several studies have shown that people are more swayed when they hear statements of opinion and persuasive messages more than once.

    EASY TO UNDERSTAND = TRUE

This is what psychologists call the illusion of truth effect and it arises at least partly because familiarity breeds liking. As we are exposed to a message again and again, it becomes more familiar. Because of the way our minds work, what is familiar is also true. Familiar things require less effort to process and that feeling of ease unconsciously signals truth (this is called cognitive fluency).

As every politician knows, there’s not much difference between actual truth and the illusion of truth. Since illusions are often easier to produce, why bother with the truth?

The exact opposite is also true. If something is hard to think about then people tend to believe it less. Naturally this is very bad news for people trying to persuade others of complicated ideas in what is a very complicated world."

  24. I read Jared's article.... Didn't really know what think about it. I'm glad he's making SOME progress in his attempts to move on with his life. He still seems kinda emotionally conflicted and confused to me though. I just don't understand why "spiritual people" who are hurt by other people feel the need to say they LOVE them DEEPly... Is this supposed to indicate that they are some advanced spiritual being who has completely realized all the lessons from such a traumatic experience and are in a place healthy place to speak about thier healing process?? To me it indicates the exact opposite. I think that loving someone deeply in the way that humanity uses the word love means to be ATTACHED to something. As long as we are attached to someone, or some outcome, I think it is impossible to reach a place of true NEUTRALITY. I think that true unconditional love is NEUTRALITY and complete ACCEPTANCE without Judgement... So I am always curious when people says they "deeply love" the people who played the perpetrator role in their lives. To me that still indicates an emotional charge is attached. An emotional charge is an indicator that the person is not NEUTRAL... SO I just tend to think that people are in some sort of denial about where they actually are in their healing process when they make declarations like they deeply love their perpetrators and would love to sit down and talk shop with them so soon after a traumatic ordeal....

  25. I think love is hard to define and means different things to different people. There are also many kinds of love. Sometimes love means compassion. In that respect I'm all about having love for teal and everyone associated with her. Compassion, unconditional love, grace, forgiveness... these are just never bad things, in my opinion.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Thanks for your perspective as always LaVaughn. I agree that love means soo many different things to different people it's almost impossible to define. I used to think the same way you did. Then I got schooled by a teacher who is really pushing the ascension teachings. He claims that whenever we need to forgive anyone... We are still playing in the 3D world of polarity. RIGHT, WRONG, GOOD, BAD, JUDGEMENT, BIGGER PERSON etc... When we are neutral we don't need any of those things. Everything is perfect. I am completely confused now.... LOL

    ReplyDelete
  27. Well, forgiveness doesn't mean any of those things to me. It means being able to break with the past. It means no longer carrying people who've hurt us around. I think a lot of what people call forgiveness is aspirational because it's not really that easy to break with the past. But there comes a point when you realize that the only thing that ever really mattered was the love, which really means knowing that the other person is really just another piece of ourselves. Then we can appreciate what they taught us about ourselves. I don't mean to imply that any of it's easy, because I don't really think it is. It's a process with stages like anything else.

    ReplyDelete
  28. You can't be completely neutral to everything and still live as a human being, I think.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I tend to agree with you Elena. I don't do well with teachings that tell me not to feel what I'm feeling, or that those feelings are invalid. Humans are emotional creatures.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Maybe, at some point of evolution, we'll eventually only feel what is "valid". How to achieve this while being here in the world we are living in and the way we, humans, are?

    Sri Krishna:

Be fearless and pure; never waver in your determination or your dedication to the spiritual life. Give freely. Be self-controlled, sincere, truthful, loving, and full of desire to serve.
Realize the truth of the scriptures; learn to be detached and to take joy in renunciation. Do not get angry or harm any living creature, but be compassionate and gentle; show goodwill to all. Cultivate vigor, patience, will, purity; avoid malice and pride. Then, Arjuna, you will achieve your divine destiny.

He who is free from selfish attachments, who has mastered himself and his passions, attains the supreme perfection, attains Brahman, the supreme consummation of wisdom.

Unerring in his discrimination, sovereign of his senses and passions, free from clamor of likes and dislikes, he leads a simple, self-reliant life based on meditation, controlling his speech, body, and mind. - The Bhagavad Gita

  31. I have to say i'm leaning more towards your direction with humans and emotions. I think the context in which I was explaining forgiveness and neutrality may be skewed as well... Lately, the only thing I feel with certainty is that I know absolutely nothing for sure about this holographic illusion that we live in... The more I try to figure it out with my mind... The more trick sacks I fall into... Such is life I suppose....

Here is a recent little Youtube video by our friend Gary B... I have to say it is nice to see others catching on. The more videos and blogs that seek to raise awareness about these new age cult leaders feels encouraging. I admit that I am secretly rooting for someone, somewhere, somehow, to peacefully find a way to stop Teal from inflicting maximum damage with her disinformation agenda and suicidal ideation....

  32. This is me wondering why your last comment, OT, did not go into my email. Short answer: Mercury Retrograde. Long answer: Who knows.

"Lately, the only thing I feel with certainty is that I know absolutely nothing for sure about this holographic illusion that we live in..."

Precisely. I know that I don't know. Kinda humbling isn't it? In the truest sense of that word teal hates.

Thanks for posting the vid. I will check it out.

I just signed on to add this quote that I just saw on my Facebook feed.

  33. I was wondering the same.

Speaking of wrongdoings...something I heard her say and really emphasize in the latest podcast left me feeling very concerned... something potentially very damaging, imo, for the vulnerable minds. A few more of such messages and I will start believing she is collaborating with the devil/dark forces :-/

  34. Is it in the new death tea thing? Because we haven't listened to that one yet. Last evening, given the choice between the Fargo finale and teal, we went with Fargo. I still think we made the right choice.

So is it worse than telling a depressed woman that she needs to decide if she wants live or die and then gleefully reporting that her suicide is, like, totally fine? Is it bigger than breadbox? Should I keep guessing?

    ReplyDelete
  35. No need to keep guessing, you'll watch it for yourself when there is nothing better to do :-) So no spoilers from me, but yeah, the way I've interpreted what she said, it falls somewhere along those lines, placing little or no value on human lives and the way we live these lives.

  36. Elena, I just finished watching it a few minutes ago. You piqued my curiosity. It's ghastly. I think we made the right choice by watching Fargo last night. Because a miniseries about a psychopathic hit man was less violent and disturbing than what I just watched. It's horrible. Seriously, I think Lorne Malvo had a stronger ethical compass. WTF?!

  37. I just opened that Lady Gaga link...speechless.

But you see, according to the things said in this death episode, rapists and child abusers are just as important for the Universe's expansion...they are the catalysts too. It really doesn't matter what you decide to do in life to our Universe...so why does it have to matter to us, humans, since we are part of that Universe? It is all perfect as is. This video is perfect and just as beautiful as ...i dunno...Loreena Mckennit?. Probably better. You know, since Hitler was a much better teacher than most of them meek humble guys.

  40. "Do What You Want" by Lady Gaga and Teal's message, they are kinda promoting the same, no?

I had a close call in the nearby High park last evening when I decided to go for a walk to clear my head (needed badly esp after watching this teacast) and gather some herbs for my relaxing sleepy time tea. Usually at that hour there are still people walking and running, but maybe because of the rainy weather it was emptier that usual, which didn't bother me cs I never felt unsafe in that park, in all these years I've lived (on and off) next to it - I know it by heart. Which probably helped me yesterday when I had to run for my safety from a very scary man. He appeared on my path approaching me and immediately I sensed danger. He wouldn't let me pass and then tried to grab...I just turned and tried to make it as fast as I could to the main road and he was following! I lost him eventually (at one point had to stop for a sec to remove my flip flops so i could run faster). Now I know what it's like to be "chased in the woods". Frightening experience.

And what is this, the theory that in order to become spiritually enlightened you have to be tortured and abused in your childhood, or you just grow up an ordinary being who wouldn't contribute and just end up consuming unconsciously all their lives???

    ReplyDelete
  41. Oh my GOD!! Elena! How terrifying. Well good on you for trusting your instincts and making like a bat. So glad you're okay.

No doubt teal would say you became a match to that terrible experience because of all your resistance to her divine authority and guidance in that tea thing.

I'm sure I'll have much to say in the noncast. That was unbelievable. I'll have to force it on my poor husband at the earliest opportunity. Egads. Awful.

  42. Arghhh, wish there was an edit button for the comments, I can't even blame MR for my mistakes. But that would be too much to ask from already troubled Blogger, huh?

Yep, that would be the case according to her divine laws. I think the Universe is trying to tell me to stop watching that stuff. Clearly, I had been more "in alignment" pre teal. I've been to some places considered much more dangerous than this neighborhood, but that's the most crazy encounter since a long time (nineties in Ukraine were pretty bad but then I had two rottweilers by my side). I'm not usually easily scared but the guy looked really malicious.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Glad you are OK Elena.

To have respect for being victim and NOT victim all at the same time is a paradox. Being hurt as a person in life can't be ignored. It happens. The helplessness associated with the overwhelm of "horrible and bad" holds back creativity and should be dissolved for future expansion.

The experience of victimization is a huge area of suffering that is wrong to fluff off. I am feeling a zero tolerance for perpetuating abuse.

It seems to me that it is a little absurd to insist that physical bodies never experience "victimization". The body experience does easily include the feeling of being hurt and the small "self'" will seek a way to restore its "safety"

Unfortunately "abuse" is not a simple matter of right and wrong as it seems victims of hurt often turn around and pass on hurt. Saviors appear to attempt to end the hurting in an area and as soon as one "victim" is saved, then more show up and the needing saving is ongoing.

I personally do believe we are spiritual beings of great power in a holographic experience. I think we are generally attracting experience.

Emotion based on the past and a future based on combining thought, intention with feeling is all true. The cycle of life is maybe just an illusion. There are levels of context IMO and even if we know of multiple contexts, we experience the here and now bodily.

This is where we stand now. A lack of compassion for our experience at any moment is NOT useful. We have to meet ourselves where we are.

IF we recognize that the body is a vehicle that is a home for "us" to live, we then see that no matter what activity of "victims/perpetrator/savior" is occurring, it is not a permanent condition. This means to me forgiveness is accepting change and impermanence and not holding on. Love is self compassion for what is happening with us at any given "time". We should not be held in the past by ourselves or hold others.

But there is also no excuse for very bad behavior and that cannot be loving...allowing that without response. It is especially true that we need to stand for a safe environment for children. Actually I sort of see this as all about providing a platform for our own growth. We can DO this. We are grand evolutionary expansions in form. We can see all sides and hold flexible boundaries.

I will agree with Joe Dispenza here that the personality is an aspect of the body. Like the body it appears permanent but in reality is constantly being revised with new information and energy. The pattern may look the same when we hold it in subconscious repetition..

Apparently the ego is just that aspect that is a mediator for the body to minimize the results of "victim" experience. The triad of victim becoming either a persecutor itself or a savior is the full spectrum of response to hurt. All three support the continuing of the pattern.

IMO we have incorporated suffering as "normal". For the sake of argument, it might be that the "game" of victim is purposeful. It is even possible its purpose is to end the game? If for example Karma is just the round of the three faces of victim, then one may tire completely of the roles?

Since bodies can be victimized, it is not that either we are capable of experiencing the state of "victim" or NOT, but Yes, we can have the experience AND change the reactions. The experience is not all or nothing and we might be playing all three roles of the triad AND in other cases be fully outside the game.

Personally I have had enough of suffering. Suffering for me has been an attachment and addiction that was deep and seemed so outside my own control. Bodily experience of negative emotions and pain that seem associated with particular events is a "real" experience.

Yes, I try to avoid the same experience. Yes, I try to avoid the same experience.Yes, I try to avoid the same experience.......

  44. (continued...)

According to sources like Joe Dispenza, If we can come from larger awareness, we can change by becoming "greater" in energy and information than the condition at hand. It is a learning process of how to manage being with a body. So, I have decided to learn something new.

Today I will love myself while I am gently soothing my own body into releasing the past. To push myself around will not help me change. It is just time to see this pattern dissolved. So I will invoke a version of an Einstein quotation...

    http://personalexcellence.co/quotes/files/inspirational-quote-problem-resolution.jpg

The part of us that is addressed in spiritual terms as "I AM", in scientific terms as the observer, in psychological terms as the self is a larger context.... the different level of consciousness in the quote from Einstein.

We will only end the cycle by coming from the larger context. So, for instance, we can become responsible to protect the body of our own and the bodies of others. There are many beliefs that we agree about in society that place bodies in abusive situations.
Much has been said about the narcissistic lack of empathy that is abusive. Much has been described about the hierarchy of importance that allows some to lord over others. there are volumes of stories about one over powering another in the name of a concept.
There are so many examples of what could be done. We could stop seeing bodies as property that can be owned and used. We can stop allowing manipulation based on tribal loyalty (like to a cause, or to a family, a nation, or even a person)
It is abusive in itself to disregard the hurt that bodies feel when abused, manipulated, subjugated and scorned. At the same time, the tendency when hurt is to hurt back or pass on hurt or also allow ourselves to remain in relationships that hurt within the cycle. We can decide to forgive ourselves and others who participated in the cycle and again STOP the cycle. the contexts are all happening at once.

The body has suffered abuse and lack and created a history, AND this constant reiteration of the history creates more and more of the cycle. One MUST IMO start claiming the larger context to make the cycle irrelevant. Humanity is capable of changing in such a grand and unknown way as consciousness grows.

Joe Dispenza has synthesized information and created a model where he looks at the relationship between the body and the mind AND the larger context which is No body. No mind, Nonsense and Nothing from the ego context. He has taken people through meditative experience where when identification is dropped with the ego history and profound change occurs.

Paradoxically all this information comes THROUGH the body awareness.

At any given moment however, people might use concepts like consciousness raising ones to over ride the body awareness. Ideas may be smokescreens for "persecutors (self persecutors as well) to hide behind as they victimize themselves and others. So, I hope to recognize how my body feels. If it does feel safe, I think I will not second guess its understanding.

Listening to messages of emotion and the body "right NOW" gives me "warning. By going against my intuition I have a noticed "hurtful" experiences occur more often. I can override by thinking too much... intellectualize an ideal of what "might be"?

Ignoring the signal from the body and trying to fulfill an abstract has led IMO to bad agreements with institutional neglect and overt damage. The church, a state, a tribe, a corporation, a family, a partner's hurtful behavior is excused in "the name of".....

Until we have succeeded in overcoming the "bodily subconscious" patterns, I think radical measures of refusing to participate in abuse, protecting others and calling out the circular pattern are all necessary.

  45. Noncast: Death pt 1

When I was in college, I did an Edward Albee play called The Lady from Dubuque. I played the lady from Dubuque, who was actually the "white side" of death come to claim a terminally ill woman. The "black side" of death was played by a black actor, because that's how the play is written. Yes, it has taken criticism for being racially insensitive. We did the whole thing in black and white. All the major set pieces were black and white as were "death's" costumes. I wore black. He wore white. So I was kind of amused when I tuned in to watch this week's tea thing and teal was in black, Sarbdeep in white, for their discussion about death.

Their clothes were not the only thing that stood in sharp relief. For the second week in a row, we've been treated to a thinly veiled, slow-motion argument -- or power struggle -- between Mr. and Mrs. Swan. Much of this teacast was just teal telling Sarbdeep that he's wrong about everything. Mostly she just seemed contrary. But she wasn't just contradicting every idea Sarbdeep put forward. She was also contradicting herself and talking in circles. Of course, that's nothing new, either.

Sarbdeep, who appears to have rediscovered his spine, once again seems frustrated at the lack of utility -- and sensitivity, even -- in much of what teal is laying down. When she begins by explaining that dying -- from a "universal perspective" that is somehow different from our perspective even though we're all universe -- is like leaving a movie theater, he says, "That seems a bit flippant to me."

    Well, yeah!

This movie theater analogy was also how she justified the suicide she helped one of her clients decide upon. I know that seemed a little flippant to me. Flippant and completely unethical.

Sarbdeep remains completely calm, warm, and civil, but he is not, thankfully, holding back on his opinions. While teal seems very controlled, her anger at certain points is palpable. Her jaw hardens, she glares more than stares into space when he's talking. Her affect seems rigid and "managed."

It's very clear that team teal is taking our notes. Every week we notice that certain indicators we've mentioned in the noncast have been buttoned down. He rarely frames anymore. She is turned towards him more and appears more focused on what he says. She seems to be making a conscious effort to be less distracting.

This week was radically upgraded in terms of cinematography. The camera is closed in so that their lower bodies aren't visible. Cutting them off at the waist solves a number of problems and hides a number of tells. No more underpants. No more noticeable jiu-jitsu framing. And we couldn't help noticing that teal has learned how to operate a tea cup with one hand this week. She had a death grip on that thing from beginning to end, too, as if to say, SEE!!

I also find it adorable that she's picking up our lingo. Like this week, she actually made reference to indigenous peoples. I've noted more than once she tends not to include them in her human behavior calculus. That she called them "people who are indigenous" just made it hilarious.

I just wish they'd take notes on substance as well as style. I wish the insanity would stop. But there appears to be no end in sight. This week was... just... wow...

    ReplyDelete
  46. Noncast: Death pt 2

For all the loopy inconsistency of her position, this is as obnoxiously decisive as we've ever seen teal. There is no ambivalence or ambiguity. There is nothing speculative. There's just one declarative certainty after another. This is the way it is. Why? Because teal says so.

We die, claims teal, so that we can experience a different perspective. We can only experience one perspective at a time. Who's "we?" She does not say. But I guess it's different from that universal oneness of which we're all a part since it can only experience one perspective at a time. Multidimensional awareness doesn't fit into her calculus, apparently.

What happens when people die? Oh, that's easy. See, they "withdraw" just like snakes shedding their skins. Except that it isn't like that because it doesn't remain a snake and instead becomes pure consciousness, says she, raising a question as to why she embarked on this analogy in the first place. Of course they're also not like snakes shedding their skin because snakes don't back out of their skins. They move forward and leave their skins behind. Snakes don't have a reverse setting. Nature girl has apparently never seen a snake shed it's skin because she has no idea how they actually move. One could argue that the idea of a withdrawal of the soul, a regressive, rather than progressive movement makes no sense either. But since no one actually does know for certain what happens when we die, I guess that's academic.

And don't go thinking that near death experiences tell us much about death. As per teal, NDEs are different from the "true death experience." Well, no kidding. If they were actual deaths, none of these people would have lived to talk about them. Yet, somehow, teal knows exactly what real death is all about. She knows better than all those people who've just been tromping around the "sixth dimension" (???) but think they were dead. How? Well, she's teal. And she's an Arcturian Eucharist... something or other.

With NDEs many people report things that echo their belief systems. For instance, some people of Judeo-Christian backgrounds see heaven, and a much smaller number see hell. (Actually, people see a lot of things, some of which are fairly universal but characterize them in terms they understand. They feel a presence and call it God or even Jesus, even when they don't even see any clear form.) But teal would have us know that our conception of hell is completely erroneous and based on older cultural ideas of things that suck: fire and brimstone. Because, you know, fire is bad, despite the fact that it's hard to survive without manufacturing heat. Well, in fairness, burning up in fire sucks. We know that these ideas of hell are false because experts on hell tell us so. Apparently there are experts on hell. And they aren't fundamentalist Christians, like Rep. Louis Gohmert, who believe in the biblical conception. Who are these hellologists who have settled the matter? Who knows. She doesn't name a one.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Noncast: Death pt 3

People who've had near death experiences have really only been seeing the "thoughtscape we call it." Who is this "we?" No idea. But anyway, when people see the white light and talk to their guides and dead relatives, it's only in the "sixth dimension", whereas "source perspective" is above the "eleventh dimension". Well thank goodness we finally know where that source -- that is everything and everywhere because all is one -- actually hangs out. And I guess we know where teal is speaking for that "source perspective" from, despite the fact that we can only experience one perspective at a time. Of course she has told us previously that, as a "soul fork," she perceives from three points of perspective while the rest of us non-Arcturian Eucharist types only perceive from two [see above].

My husband would like to know what is in dimensions 7-11. "Off street parking? Storage? Is it where I board my dog?"

It's amazing how much teal knows that most of us think are mysteries. She knows exactly what happens when we die for real, as opposed to that pretend dying when we wander into our own thought forms. Most of us would call those archetypes, but whatever. (How long do we think it will take before teal adds the word archetype to her repertoire now?) She knows about the fallacy of hell because she has access to information from nameless hellologists who have settled the matter.

All this and we're only about seven minutes in. At this point my husband exclaimed that Sartre was right. Hell is other people... especially people named teal.

Sarbdeep, for his part, has this whacky idea that life should have meaning and that it can be found in what we do for others. Balderdash, says teal. That's just what all those ridiculous religions would have you believe. And so starts one of the strangest, um, thoughtscapes we've ever witnessed in the land of teal. If you're doing things because of ideas of an afterlife and of how you'll be remembered after you die, which btw isn't what Sarbdeep said at all, you're doing the right thing for the wrong reasons. I also don't know of a single religion that teaches you to do the right thing because of how you'll be remembered.

And now, all of a sudden, ego and the need for "significance" are a bad thing? Wasn't it just the other day that religions and other cultural norms were crushing us with this evil idea of humility? Didn't she just have all her viewers list their attributes and revel in their gifts and sense of identity?

So after justifying mass murder on the basis of said mass murderer being denied "significance" -- one of the "two most primary human needs" -- by his failing parents, NOW the need for significance is just vain ego pandering? Seriously?

You can forgive Sarbs for looking like he was just hit between the eyes with a hammer. Not only does she seem to be deliberately misconstruing what he's saying, she's done another 180 here. And all with a smug expression on her face that seems to say, "Gotcha!"

This idea that life should have any meaning other than the universe expanding? Poppycock!

  48. Noncast: Death pt 4

TEAL: The soul's desire for progression and further consciousness is being disguised with the ego's dressings of the need for significance.

Sarbs: I don't think that's significance... [she cuts him off]

TEAL: And the need for contribution.

    Sarbs: I don't think that's significance. I don't think that's significance, though. I think that's doing something good, positive.

TEAL: Why would you wanna do that? Why is that even important if the universal perspective is that there's nothing broken here that needs fixing?

Sarbs: It think there's a lot broken here.

    TEAL: That's the ego.

Sarbs: I think there are a lot people suffering.

    TEAL: Yeah, that's the ego.

Sarbs: But then you can say that about your teachings. Your teachings help people, it helps broken situations, broken you know, uh minds, broken hearts. You know you can say that about your teaching.

TEAL: Yeah, but I would say that my teachings do not help people because they mend something that's broken. They're valuable because they allow people to touch the truth of themselves, which is in a state of wholeness and integration.

[So, nothing is broken... except people's ability to touch the truth of themselves. That's all. That disconnection from true self is in no way indicative anything needing repair. If it's all in wholeness and integration, why are people disconnected from it? That would seem to me to imply something that is not, in fact, integrated.]

Sarbs: Right. [Nodding. Hard.] So you feel that you, in a way, you open, you broaden their perspective.

    TEAL: Completely.

    Sarbs: Right.

    TEAL: That's the only goal.

Sarbs: But that's, that in itself is a contribution.

TEAL: Yeah, but the fact that it's a contribution is secondary. We're only ever contributing to ourselves. Because we have to remember that the ultimate truth, which is another experiential thing that's not something that we can tell people who have never experienced that, but oneness as being the ultimate truth, you can only ever contribute to yourself because there is nothing other than you.

    Sarbs: Hmm. [uncomfortable pause]

TEAL: Which is what kills us most about death.

    [Yes, she really said that.]

    ReplyDelete
  49. Noncast: Death pt 5

So, do you get it? The only goal of her work has nothing to do with contributing anything to other human beings or to the world. That's merely a byproduct. And if her clients thought that there was any pragmatic value to her work, now might be the time to let that go.

And I guess this was pure bullshit:

    "3. What/How do I want to contribute?

    A. I want to provide the world with all kinds of beneficial material so people can use them as resources to find relief and begin enjoying and understanding their lives and themselves.  I want to create the largest non-profit in the world and I want it to grow so big that before I die, it has reformed healthcare, the justice system, the food industry and education.  I want to contribute most of all to people’s belief that they can do or be or have or change anything."

It looked like a goal to me -- a rather unrealistic goal but a goal. But apparently if any of that happens, it will merely be a byproduct of her reconnecting people to their true selves, despite the fact that they don't seem to need that because they weren't broken in the first place. And I must assume that all those things she wanted to fix, she's realized aren't broken, so that goal to contribute something to the world just got a whole lot less realistic.

Consider how many things she's gotten exercised about: medical care, prisons, nutrition... but nothing here is broken. It doesn't need fixing... except when it does and she needs to raise money to fix it.

Much of this discussion seems to be about her still trying to disabuse Sarbdeep of any inkling that life has any meaning. She's really just being contrary. Whatever he says is wrong and the reason it's wrong changes. The goalposts subtly inch across the field.

Sarbs: So if you want to help yourself, you you can help people. By you helping other people, with your videos and your teachings, you're helping yourself.

TEAL: Yes, and vice versa. By helping me, I'm helping them. By helping them I'm helping me. There is no separation between these two concepts.

Sarbs: But that is purpose, then. That is a gift, that is a contribution to this, this planet. Yeah, I think that sort of helps the evolution, helps people's consciousness. It helps people along their journey. I think it can alleviate people's pain. It can help, you know, it can help give them clarity, when they...

TEAL: Why is that important, is what I wanna know. Instead of going into defense I want you to really think about it.

Sarbs: I'm not going into defense, but I think it is important because it's you know, it depends what world you wanna live in. If you feel like you have, you can put something into the world that helps it be a more pleasant place to live in. You know maybe if you, maybe you can get to someone who is, you know, someone like the people that abused yourself when you were a child. Maybe something will get to them. Maybe one of your videos will get to them and it will help a child in the end, you know that's a contribution. That's a good thing.

TEAL: You ready for me to spin one on you?

    Sarbs: Go for it.

TEAL: That same person I was with as a child, who murdered children, is the reason that I attained the kind of enlightened experience which I now have. So from universal perspective he did every much as good for the world as I do. There's no possibility of TEAL without him.

  50. Noncast: Death pt 6

Boom! Smackdown! TEAL WINS! What she's just won there I have no idea. That was one of the most convoluted, slippery, and hostile arguments we've seen yet from herself. I'm still not clear about  what overall point she was trying to make. We're not really trying to fix anything but when we help ourselves, we help others, except that they don't really need help because they're not broken because everything is perfect except for this disconnection from true self that is in no way like a break of any kind. It's all perfect, even rape, torture, and murder, because it creates enlightened (ahem) beings like teal to do good in the world... without ever intentionally contributing anything.

The look on her face through most of this is priceless. She's furious. And Sarbdeep bringing up her supposed abuse history really puts her over the top. Her jaw is so clenched it looks like it might crack. Maybe because she's repeatedly validated her role in the world on the basis of helping abuse survivors. That does not seem to fit with the whole, nothing is broken, there's no real point to contributing anything directly to the world rap.

But let's not lose the forest for the trees. Sarbdeep has extracted a very bold statement here from teal. She's claiming to be enlightened and that she owes it to a Mormon Satanist who abused and even killed unknown numbers of children. Maybe that's why she's so reluctant to see him face any kind of criminal prosecution. Apparently he's a gift to humanity because he has given us teal in all her glory. That her "enlightenment" was bought with the blood of children doesn't seem to phase her.

It's a little confusing because she's also claimed that she was born with all these gifts that so many people need car accidents and other life-altering experiences to awaken. Not her. Yet the price of her "enlightenment?" Some children had to die. If I really believed that there was a network of Mormons and Satanists abducting, torturing, and killing children in Utah, or anywhere really, I'd be really horrified that she's justifying such things on the basis that angel teal got her wings.

It seems a little crazy but teal would have you know that enlightened people can be surprising. Like there was that time the Buddha threw a man over a boat. Not off a boat, over one. According to teal, the enlightened Buddha was on a boat and someone was attacking a bunch of people so he threw him "over the boat." This is confusing, says she, because one would expect an enlightened person to just stand back and watch people get murdered. (Here's where I point out that, no, I really wouldn't. But I'm not enlightened like teal so what the fuck do I know.) Sarbdeep's response here is priceless. He just nods and says, "Okay." He looks a little perplexed and with good reason, I think.

  51. Noncast: Death pt 7

My husband had never heard of such thing and he's read many books on both Buddhism and the historical Buddha. It took a bit of googling but I found it and was not terribly surprised to learn that she's got it all jacked up. It wasn't the enlightened Buddha. It was a "previous incarnation" of the Buddha on a ship with 500 other bodhisatva merchants. He learned of the miscreant's intentions in a dream. He took the karma of "compassionate murder" upon himself, even though it forestalled his enlightenment for many lifetimes, to spare the murderer the karma of killing 500 bodhisatvas, which is apparently worse than killing ordinary people. It's not an historical story of Siddhartha Gautama, obviously. It's a myth. Here are a few differing versions of the story, none of which claim it was the enlightened Buddha.

One thing we all seem to be in agreement on is that Westerners, particularly Americans, don't handle the grief process well. We lack patience with uncomfortable emotions, our own and other people's. There is something truly hideous about the way people pressure you to be cheerful, whether you're grieving a death or experiencing any other kind of dark mood. This is one of my major frustrations with The Secret, Abraham/Hicks, and other law of attraction vehicles -- the tyranny of a positive attitude. It's just such control freak bullshit. And I agree with Sarbdeep. Grieving people neither produce nor consume well enough to make them suitable cogs in the machine. It's no wonder that our commercial media love books about the power of positive thinking.

However, teal is overstating the situation. It's the unusual person who expects people to get over the death of a loved one in a day. Nor is it the protocol to hand people antidepressants simply because they're grieving. That's not even the case now that the "bereavement exclusion" has been removed from the DSM. And that change got a lot of pushback from psych professionals for appearing to pathologize grief. It was changed to allow for immediate treatment of grieving people who may have other psychological complications or whose grief is extreme and unmanageable. Medicating grief was and is rare.

But frankly, it's her response to loss and grief that I find chilling. One wonders how a grieving person would feel about hearing that the life of their loved one was essentially meaningless and that they'd simply "withdrawn" from the movie theater. One wonders how the family of her suicidal client would feel hearing that kind of explanation.

One also wonders why teal, with all her respect for the pain of grief, doesn't understand why we don't speak ill of the dead at a funeral. She finds it hilarious that people speak in kind terms of awful people when they die. Does it really not occur to her that it's out of respect for the bereaved, not the dead people?

And one wonders how the notional parents of notional children murdered by Mormon Satanists would feel upon learning that it was all worth it because now teal is "enlightened."

  52. Ever since I took acid I have been on the look out for hints, clues and signs from other people that they know this 'somethingness' that I know that I have never been able to put words to. I have hoped to find someone who had a clearer and more stable 'connection' to this 'energy field' that I had perceived under the influence of psychedelic drugs, and that I might get some workable advice from them about how to allow that energy to flow through me consciously and deliberately, without having to resort to the use of certain plants and drugs.

Some many years ago I used to get a newsletter from some 'life coach' type person, and at the top of her newsletter she always had a slew of pithy quotes. Every time there was a quote that like booted me up into that psychedelic high place, it was ALWAYS credited to 'Abraham-Hicks'. I finally had to do a google search to find out who this beyond amazing entity was. I could never express in words how glad I am that I followed that hunch... their message has contributed immensely to my emotional freedom and mental stability.

At the same time I am very much aware that "the totally convinced and the totally stupid have too much in common for the resemblance to be accidental" (Robert Anton Wilson) Hahahaha!

What it all boils down to is that where I'm coming from is pretty well illustrated by the woman in this video, hahahahahaha!

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7agl-sNLXMI&index=16&list=PLdFpRuHc-QZoxcPLvXUnLb5KEN-e_34Bi

And btw, Abraham, as 'channeled' by Esther Hicks, used the analogy of death being like getting up and walking out of a movie theater, long before teal tried so miserably to put it into her 'own' (eyeroll) words.

"But I'm not enlightened like teal so what the fuck do I know?" Hahahahaha! And the second paragraph was VERY interesting, and well worth the research, imo!

And that video was pretty interesting too, it was really fun seeing your blog referenced in the credits! What's funny to me is that I got so involved watching it that I forgot that I had gotten to it from here and was all set to come 'running' over here to post it saying 'look what I just 'happened to stumble on!' 59. Great blog for all things REAL. I don't believe Teal is real. She seems very confused to me (and I have met and worked with a number of well known spiritual teachers). I think that its great that she's helped a lot of people "awaken" but she should stop there. The consistency level of her teachings is ridiculous and I feel that she will just confuse people more than help them. I read earlier somebody believes shes working for the dark side; INDEED. The fallen ones have her right where they want her, whether she is aware of it or not. I saw a "frequency billboard" picture that was put up in Chicago or something and I noticed that at the bottom, conveninantly was her brand: www.tealswan.com. Soooooo not spiritual. Trying to raise the vibration of the planet in the name of Teal Swan. Lame.
She doesn't appear very loving and/or kind. She emits coldness and arrogance. Sooooo not spiritual.
This blog is just what is needed for all the people who need to (and will) see the truth before they become even more confused than they already are.
The Law of Attraction is BS. ITs about perspective and should NEVER have anything to do with attracting what you want......... The LOA is a very dangerous tool used by the Fallen Ones (masked as spiritual leaders) to keep us from the truth. It appears to work but will always fail you because the only we should really want is to glorify GOD and do GODS will.....not our own. Dangerous stuff.
I have enjoyed this blog for its witty remarks on the whole TEAL enterprise (bc that's all it is, really) I mean, frequency paintings on a flask???????? Whats that supposed to do, raise the vibration of the alcohol to make it okay to drink??? Lame.

She is a dangerous woman, a pathological liar and has done nothing but market herself. If she's supposed to be a "Eucharist" well then where are the bloody miracles?

All she is teaching is regurgitated DARKNESS. sad.

  61. Oh, this reminds me something. Teal keeps saying things like: "this particular Universe was designed this way/ for the purpose of/ with these set of laws". Designed by what or whom she never mentions. She also says, "Such was an agreement: to experience contrast, etc etc". Again, agreement between whom?? Could you, please, specify? Are there "middlemen" between the Source's pure impersonal energy and this convoluted Universe?

    ReplyDelete
  62. I mean....... authentic. I don't think she is truthful with her life story or who she is. I think she makes stuff up as she goes along.
I believe that if you are confused then somethings off. Confusion is not for those living in light. You can admit you don't know but that's not confusion, that's just ignorance. Confusion means you have one foot in the darkside and one in the light side. A half-timer. heh heh.

That is why I don't think Teal is real. A spiritual teacher does not confuse you. They clarify for you and there is just too much improve with this one.

  63. OH LV, loved the most recent noncast, that line below really made me laugh!

My husband would like to know what is in dimensions 7-11. "Off street parking? Storage? Is it where I board my dog?"

  64. I don't think she is a real teacher. I think she makes shit up and improvs as she goes along.
A deeply spiritual person understands that specialness does not exist and it is the light of our brothers and sisters that we focus on, not ourselves because in our brothers and sisters happiness will we find ours.
I don't believe Teal understands oneness at all and that part of myself bothers me. ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  65. I also believe Teal is a pathological liar. She makes things up as she goes which is why her "teachings" are so confusing and contradictive. She seems to be someone who has a huge ego, thinks she is extremely special and above everyone else and fits her teachings to whatever makes sense for her personally. "Hmm, I am a very selfish, self-involved person, well lets put some teachings out there that say that its good to be selfish and being giving and having humility are lame!" I am so tired of these so-called New Age teachers like Teal who just keep trying to tell people what is "high vibration" and what is "in alignment," etc., it's basically the same as any organized religion, letting someone tell you how to live and what is best for you. Hearing Teal say "from a Universal Perspective" makes me sick. Her perspective is her own perspective, period. She speaks for no one but her self.

People like Teal are just out there to make money and stroke their warped, inflated egos. If you cant see that, then keep following her, you eventually will.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Lily, I found that line so funny as well (7-11). I was cracking up in the corner, reading the noncast from the phone while at the bbq party and people were all asking "what's so funny?", but how could I explain- in spite of teal's huge fame, no one there ever heard of her before.

  71. When I begin posting on your blog LV, I cannot stop.

I like writing and I have dreamed of the fulfillment of writing something worthwhile (In My Opinion). It is that I seek genius of being myself with satisfaction of expressing my POV. I like everyone, is being whatever "self" is acting in any moment. Myself has looked poor in my estimation (the stick part of seeking spiritual guidance is how we flog ourselves). I do believe the vibration of poverty attracts more impoversihment.

It is really important to be kind to ourselves and one another. The problem with me has been that I was shaped early on to look at people suspiciously (moreover could not trust myself). I was not in touch with my body. I was always preferring the mental. But I decide this was a bad thing and that I needed something to help me do life. I hoped for magic but never believed it. Normal life is hard to settle in feeling comfortable and satisfied by. This is coming from the survivor consciousness. Survival fear keeps me superficial.

To opeb the mind to creativity seems the most important thing to M. So, the directive for bliss is opening to a creative mind slower and deeper in frequency. Fast high beta thoughts that chime of feelings of fear have a faster shallow wave. I sincerely desire what is real. What is real to me looks to many like woowoo. I should not be deterred by poor representatives of this genre. there are exemplary ones. Woowoo is just what we cannot be evaluated logically and linearly

So when I hear someone expressing (as messed up as it is for Teal) the depth of a certain passion for woowow, my smile widens. Then of course Interesting can be also dangerous and stupid. There is hardly anyone talking big who is not lying.

OF COURSE, I would be attracted to this strange "new age" spread. I shall GO for it with gusto trusting that ideas cannot harm me...only Gurus. I do really believe we are becoming our own Gurus with inner being talking.

SOMETHING has shifted in me. I bet it is shifting in others. The world seems it is loosening. I think I am changing my brain and accessing different frequencies?

Seeing more or in some way enhancing perception like hearing, feeling...these senses are growing. It becomes more and more interesting to be with oneself. This is my late experience with the stretch.

  72. Because I have always been an armchair alternative history curiouity terrier, I have read troves. but just the otehr day, my isolated thought about Atlantis came together. I write on project avalon and I started athread about Atlantia being a maritime civilization ringed aroud the Atlantic. I related it to a probable cometary catastrophe of 12,900 BCE.

The Tsunamis that were 100's of feet high destroyed the coastal cities of the Atlantean Empire. They even reached the highlands of Peru.

Atlantis was off the Americas and the children of Atlantis were the South American, Egyptian and all the ancient cultures that happened after the deluge. I wrote several posts about the things coming to me.

The so interesting aspet is that the story is all around me like IMAX and I just need to turn my head to be shown something. This is new for me.

My friends are having sensory expansion too in feeling, in hearing and what about all of us? IMO something is really shifting, something I always desired to be true. I love the idea that we are all beoming more sensitive in the body. Several people have referenced Teal as distanced from her body. This getting closer to our own inner nature is not all that dark shadow. Infact, maybe we don't have to make anything happen but just connect more with our real self.

This real self may have been painted as ugly to us when it was not ugly. I doubt there is utility in studying ugly. Trust that we are so much more than we have credited. Only we can know that for us.

My IMAX story is fulfilling to the mental kind of person I like being. So BLISS is IMO the fulfillment felt when we love something deeply and connect there.

  73. "Teal keeps saying things like: 'this particular Universe was designed this way/ for the purpose of/ with these set of laws'. Designed by what or whom she never mentions. "

This is one of those "define your terms" things that drives me crazy and it's not just her. At some point we have to decide what we mean by universe. Traditional definition: everything. Physics definition: one of a number of enclosed systems within a greater... um... multiverse contained in... um... a greater... um... universe, aka., everything.

The word, itself, btw, means "one turn."

Of course now physicists are saying this "universe" shouldn't exist at all. Physicists give me a headache, frankly.

Here's where teal goes horribly wrong, in my opinion. She states things as a certainty, based on, I don't know, Tao of Physics or something. She claims to be versed in physics, has demonstrated repeatedly that she is not, but she's hanging her hat on things that are still unknowns within physics. Theoretical physics is far from resolved on any of these matters, but she "knows." And she demonstrates this knowledge by referring to theories which are rapidly being left behind in the field of physics. A lot of new age teachers do this, but she is easily one of the most dogmatic about a very speculative field of inquiry.

Haha, tell me about that! But maybe it's also physics to blame, to be fair. These guys probably deal with lots of headaches themselves, and the matter isn't gonna be solved anytime soon. Teal glares and starres when Mr. Sarb is speaking because she needs to
think hardcore about the next quotes and self studied material content
and how to say it with tealish words so that at the end everybody is
fucking confused (even the crisp thinking Sarb) and she comes out in
shining angel light because it sounds somehow "smart" when spoken with confidence and certainty to a lazy and star struck brain. But some may just recognize the philosophy/ies and religions they are familiar with…which again makes her sound "right" to them.

Yes Teal or Team Real  studies here and you can see the mirrowing. Her
latest Workshop was painful, had some short sightings there of  Soul
Retrieval (oh must be in the air)  which was just topic here. Sounded
like a recent fresh experience to Teal the really pretty VIP-earthling when
    describing her recent therapy session.

She is also getting even more bold  - is this actually possible by
covering newest discoveries about The secret life of Teal and a Swan ...
by pointing out that she is on stage because she never felt
significant enough, bla bla, parents, Blabla....audience and tealdrunks
are clapping... Did somebody notice lately that she is correcting her
Tealtale BIT by BIT - what a smart fox. Straight in your face, some display of pain or hurt emotions and vulnerability (the best wapon against possible arising anger in people who were lied at).

Blake is keeping Teal sane by opening the show with a card with

    partner in crime?!

"She finds it hilarious that people speak in kind terms of awful

    - don't exspect any credit LV  ( ; As far as Teal is concerned, google is a library of Galaxy knowledge which really doesn't require credits. At the end of the day it is there for all of us :D

Your googling experience made me giggle HARD in 2 ways - thanks for
correcting the buddha story - painful and thanks for quoting the
twisted nonsense .... I was listening to it twice and it didn't made
sense at all BUT as usual it sounded veeery important. the display of certainty and confidence pays truly tricks with the synapses of brains. Kind of amazing.

  93. I'm with you Earthpicked! I wish Teal would throw in the towel with her new age queen aspirations and stick to what she does best in spinning dark fantasy and writing sci fi. Unfortunately, I also happen to believe she knows exactly what she is doing, in confusing the masses. I am one of those people who believes nothing is a coincidence, and the disinformation these new age LOA promoters like TEAL are churning out is all part of a larger agenda. I believe she is playing for team dark, and she is slotted to be one of the new Illuminati approved IT girls in the conspiracy to move toward a one world religion in the New World Order ... Hence, her push to go mainstream is seemingly gaining momentum at the moment. I take solace in the fact that her reign as a self appointed "NEW AGE THOUGHT LEADER" will be VERY short lived as people begin to wake up to their own wisdom and power and learn to connect their mind and the heart centers during this time of ascension.

  94. LaVaughn, you are on a ROLL! I have to say this was hands down the best NON-CAST yet. Thank you!!! :)

    ReplyDelete
  95. I agree. The New Age movement can definitely be a "distraction" and used to work the agenda of the dark side. what is it.... Teal eye LLC with a pyramid pictured???? ummm. okay obvious much.

But the problem lies in that we ARE creatures of habit and so the masses follow the stream of thought waves that they are used to (i.e. what everyone else thinks/does/feels/etc.).

In any case the battlefield is rich with those who truly see through the new age agenda and connect the dots on their own. Few and far between but I feel strong about the light bearers, here on earth.

LightBEARERS.....not to be confused with LightWORKER for we are not here to work the light. We are here to birth it.

People can be led astray easily but in my experience if its too complicated and it has a brand then stay away!

Like Mother Theresea said so gently: Be kind. Be kind. Be kind.

And in this do we find peace.

So on that note I pray that everybody who empties their pockets, hearts and minds into the Teal Enterprise awakens to find themselves not confused as much as relieved: relieved that they eventually saw the truth and found a way out. Amen.

  97. GA, so nice to see you again.

"Teal glares and starres when Mr. Sarb is speaking because she needs to
think hardcore about the next quotes and self studied material content
and how to say it with tealish words so that at the end everybody is
fucking confused (even the crisp thinking Sarb) and she comes out in
shining angel light because it sounds somehow 'smart' when spoken with confidence and certainty to a lazy and star struck brain. But some may just recognize the philosophy/ies and religions they are familiar with…which again makes her sound 'right' to them."

    Well said.

In terms of her new workshop, I don't watch these. Please tell me you don't mean that she's claiming she knows something about soul retrieval. Please, please, please.

  98. Kind of funny reading all this commentary about how teal should be writing SF & Fantasy. I have to say NOOOOOOOO!!!! There's enough bad SF & Fantasy cluttering up the genre. One of the things I love about Fantasy is that allows writers to explore archetypes and supernatural themes with a lot of freedom to tell the truth in a way that nonfiction writers can't. And it really is a weird synchronicity because I only just posted on the horrible, horrible revelations about one of the iconic writers in the genre, who turns out to be a creepy, creepy sex abuser. So I'm feeling a little sick right now as it is.

  99. I did enjoy this series and found it very significant in my
unearthing of the Goddess within. I am not, however, surprised by these cases of abuse.

    I always say:

The best author/actor IS because he or she completely embraces the story that they are creating. Upon embracing the very complex and deeply ingrained story line they then become the living, breathing process of their gift.

No, the Mists of Avalon did not promote sexual abuse to minors but it sure did shift and confuse the sexual boundaries in many ways.

Marion simply became the priestess of Avalon and she took on that story in her own life in the here and now. So intricate is the web of consciousness and "memory" that it really does weave in and out of everything NOW.........

LV you really do well in your research. This is my favorite blog thus far. sooooooo kudos.

  100. Help me out here, Earthpicked. I did not read Mists of Avalon. As stated, I found it unreadable. I also did not watch the TV Movie. I tried and I saw bits and pieces but I just couldn't get into it. In what way did it shift and confuse the sexual boundaries?

  101. Teal is a Real Estate agent and ex lingerie model and artist and mayyyyyybe has some extra sensory skills.
She came up with a business plan to fulfill her dream of fame & money.
And she has all tools for that.
    Target: New age spiri seekers
She is very invested into her career and does deep core research
She's intelligent and has natural talents for being an actress and a great look about her

Her personal deep investment into her character which she is playing - called "The Spiritual Catalyst" and her knowledge , personal interest and gathered and self tested methods for self healing create an illusion of "realness" about the character she is playing. The lines are blurry between the business character and the damaged and talented real person behind it, called Mary Teal Bosworth. She has studied common manipulation techniques OR is a natural super talent in this regard.

    Teal is choleric
Teal is a magician. Sometimes they start to belief their own tricks
Teal is constantly worried to be seen through
she is constantly battled by her own painful past, depression and fears
Her expressions of being touched by the positive feedback of her fans or by their acceptance of her so called "public self outing" on platforms like shadow house (version 1.0 only) are authentic and part of her personal healing.

Teal studied all common religions and philosophies, studied and used common psychology models. She repeats a lot of core concepts of all of them, she draws her own conclusions, sometimes very smart ones and she uses them to further her game as a business woman. Did I say that she bends them in all directions of 3D to benefit her self image and projected role play? The acturian-reality which she represents and created is a soup of different vegetables of human mind activity, cut into little pieces, iced together, watered down and flavored with the current, most dominant self perception and truth of her dialogue partner. Soups taste great at the beginning…later they turn bitter.

Teal loves to dress as an elb or an indian princess or a dessert fairy. sometimes also like a street bird and a paradise bird. Her natural beauty, given by her parents, work to her benefits. I am still waiting for new outfits of Lara croft and Xena :D to fulfill the dream of the last left out men.

Teal has a great new husband. ( :
    Teal has a gorgeous son
Teal has a dedicated knight who is deeply in love with her.
Teal has a very promising career ahead of her… she might end up with her own star at the Hollywood Walk of Fame cause…
Teal is an amazing, smart and beautiful actress by heart.
I would give her a star for sure….

Well if this business plan doesn't work out, I hope she goes to Hollywood.

So much talents I was listing - and I meant it.
There is JUST this little annoying fact that she doesn't state anywhere that she is an actress and that she really says a lot of bullshit. That pissed me off for a while because I was pretty invested into this movie. :D

LV: well she did but didn't go into detail. The arcturian-download was interrupted…she still needs to do some proper google research and more self therapy on that one. :D

  102. LV The Mists of Avalon explored sexuality from a Pagan and Catholic/Cather point of view. Arthur, torn between the mother and the father GOD entered a ceremony put on by Merlin and Vivianne (the High Priestess of Avalon). Morgaine was her niece and she and the other woman all of have these important roles and stories Arthur and Morgaine were brother and sister conceived of Igraine, Viviannes sister. Merlin and Vivianne (to anchor in the light of the Goddess) created a child (as in the story of the Essenes; which describe the other side of the virgin birth story). The child was from brother and sister who grew up very fond of each other until Merlin took Arthur, who was only 8, to train as a soldier and Vivianne took Morgaine, a few years older, to learn the traditions of the mother in Avalon. The two were brought together in their late teens masked as the stag horse ready to fight for justice and the virgin priestess meant to earn Viviannes role as High Priestess. They were mean to anchor in both the masculine and feminine energies of the ONE GOD. In doing so they would birth the seed of God into humanity. The masked teens then had sex and created a child from incest, bloodlines and spiritual purpose aside, the child was meant to be here.

While this was very shameful to Arthur and Morgaine it brought about a whole story line with many characters describing their points of view and the unfolding of the plan of the mother. Obviously British royalty ignored this behavior and simply tried to abolish the entire tradition. Men, in their warrior skins with their avoidance of the feminine principle in REALITY, the men of the British Isles with their roman influence and powerful church of men (and one woman who who merely symbolizes mother and isn't valued as leader and guide) they have their own practices of prostitution and both overt and latent homosexuality.

The book is brimming........ I liked it ALOT. I lost flavor in the third book however........

    ReplyDelete
  103. Earthpicked, that much I basically knew. But the incest between the half-siblings goes way back in Arthurian legend. Bradley didn't make that up. She maybe rescripted it a little. I don't actually see how that correlates to her being a child molester. Many authors write about sibling incest without, to my knowledge, raping children. I just recently finished (boo hoo) all five of the completed Ice and Fire (Game of Thrones) books. Sibling incest is a major theme. I'm going to go out on a limb and assume that George RR Martin isn't a pedophile. It's always going to come up around the issue of royal bloodlines because it's part of human history. The ancient Egyptians royalty married off siblings. Royalty is still freaking inbred. To quote Joy Behar, "They don't give their DNA a chance to breathe, these people."

    ReplyDelete
  104. Like I said though, some people just breach the habit pinnacle and become their story line. Sexual abuse is sexual abuse. period. There definitely may be some common threads of behavior among the ones who abuse children as compared to the ones who choose women and la di da.....but its abuse.

Look at Michael J Fox with his three major roles in the media as "time traveler". What a great film and superb "acting" for Michael. He "acted" his life into believing that he could time travel and those "memories" ingrained themselves into his real life. He has a disease that affects the nervous system. LOA.

and little Heather O'Rourke (the blonde girl from Poltergeist).
She, from a young age was filming how the dark side seeks to manipulate and alter the light so that it could enter, finally. Heather, as the leading role, became the one to embrace this "purpose". She acted herself into reality. LOA.

I can name a lot more. I had myself a little study.

    :-)

    ReplyDelete
  105. I see. Well, you could name as many you want and not convince me of the LOA. One thing I make it a point never to do is try to determine why other people have manifested their reality. The only question for me ever is why it's coming up in my reflective world.

    ReplyDelete
  106. Ok...must be LoA at work today...lots of synchronicities, haha. Why was this video in my face as I opened youtube page just now? Why it's coming up in my reflective world lol, I've covered Icke ages ago. Speaking of royalty...

Andara, my insulted flip flops demand an apology! These are very very comfortable, orthopaedic ones with a nice arch support, heel support, and shock absorption, great for walking, but not for running (d'oh!)...and they were only a week old at the time, and the best flip flops I've ever had, which is why I cared enough to actually pick them up and waste a few seconds- didn't want smth bad happen to them. :-P

    ReplyDelete
  107. See the LOA is basically real. you get back what you put in. But it has to be from the heart........so people misuse it with magic and create what "they" want. When it should ONLY be what "we" want : an extension from the heart. oneness. I don't believe it works properly when used to benefit the individual.....habit in nature, being a rule. ;-) Survival of the fittest, to me is a valid theory that is very well documented. We perpetuate the species by protecting our "being" YET our "being" is part and whole of an entire "being" (species).
Animals and plants, minerals and cellular life all work from the heart, I believe. They move with an invisible pattern that allows for them to be non-attached for they know their place in whole . Humans, with their calculating and discerning consciousness separates themselves from the ONE and then decides to "create" for themselves. The impetus of Evolution is the "rogue"....The mutant strain that pushes through the habit. LOA works, seemingly in a universe where the chemistry is ripe for magic. But it seems to push us away from, not closer to,our true nature. So we MUSN'T abuse this law hence: the Golden Rule:
"Do unto others as you would have them do unto you"
This in itself, is a loaded statement and contains so many layers. If we step away from the perspective of "to have, give" - which we have done very well- then the LOA becomes a "mutant" creation that lies apart from THE LAW. ie; Nature.
Therefore, if GOD is nature.....and all that is-then have we been led astray by the concept that we are apart, above and beyond nature? This is why true LOA must only exist in "the flow" of true, natural essential "source" (matter; mother ) reality. What extends reality in the eternal "blanket" of SPIRITUAL MATTER and towards conscious awareness is out of our control. Our perspective is what matters. Que Sera Sera sums it up pretty well, indeed.

  108. Elena, I watched that video years ago. David Icke is fu-un. But, yeah, he talks about the royal bloodlines a lot. I'm still inclined to think he's missed the point. Just because Arthur was a Pendragon -- head of the dragon -- does not mean he was descended from evil, reptilian overlords. It actually means he was descended from the great mother, but, hey, Icke is doin' his thing and he's entertaining as all hell.

That comic was hilarious. Seriously, what would the Brits eat without their Indian population? Bangers and mash gets old fast.

  109. Earthpicked, fundamental laws either work or they don't. They don't have to be applied, properly or improperly. If we fail to practice the law of gravity properly, we don't go floating off into space. Where I think people get into trouble with the LOA is that it doesn't "work every time" as people expect it to. That's because it's a truncated form of a greater principle -- this is a reflective reality in which all things reflect all other things all the time. All we ever really see is our reflection -- the universe observing itself from one position or another. Trying to use a limited, ego-based understanding of that to manipulate reality into bringing certain outcomes is a path of inevitable suffering. So, in essence, I agree with you. We need to operate from the heart (wholeness). And we need to partner with spirit instead of operating from ego. I think we also need to jettison the term "law of attraction." It's not a law. It's a bromide.

FWIW, Darwin never sad evolution was based on the "survival of the fittest." It's not part of that theoretical framework. That idea found its way into social Darwinism, and with horrific result. http://www.darwinproject.ac.uk/six-things-darwin-never-said

  110. where it found itself, no matter.....it works. Do (or shall I say have we) not strived to better our self's? But for the betterment of ourselves, not always. We ARE indeed one, but our separation has impaired us from embracing that eternal. LOA is a law- but a law in the illusion, nonetheless. We absolutely do not need to stray far from the river, but when we do we find we create....like our father/mother GOD. catch 22 much?

  115. Yeah, it is kinda curious that people suggest teal should delight us with more Sci-Fi/fantasy/erotic books or that she should go make some movies. Can't get enough of her, huh;-) Wanna see her on the big silver screen or at Oscars?:-D But Hollywood is already full of .....yeah...talent i mean, ahem.

Why would anyone want teal as Lara anyway when we already had Angie cover that? Teal is a smart enough girl not to try and fill those shoes. She's playing her own act, a beautiful deception for those willing to be deceived and there are plenty. She is perfecting her craft, carefully observing the language of gestures, laughter and tears, until she can fashion these masks of hers as skillfully as Da Vinci painted his portraits-more real, more true to nature, than life itself. She studies our desires, fears and expectations...and thus creates a simulation of life so convincing, not too many would guess what only she knows- there is not much behind it...
And then it's no longer a mask even, it's like a mirror in which many would find their loftiest hopes...and deepest fears. When followers peer into that illusion, they see only themselves. That is the brilliance of teal deception.

But yeah, this role below would suit her perfectly, eh?

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EYemY3xFsB4

Ps. According to Earthpicked theory, Anne Rice must be one freaky character. I think she's had a drinking problem, but that was alcohol as far as I know, not blood. But then you never know...

    ReplyDelete
  116. "but the law of gravity does not entail participation"

That's my point, earthpicked. Laws don't require participation. They govern it. They're not optional. That's what makes them laws. In science, a law is codified because the same thing is observed over and over again. Such laws are testable and they always bring the same result or they're not considered laws anymore.

But what we hear over and over in new thought are completely illogical things like: The law of attraction works just like a magnet, positive attracts positive and negative attracts negative. When of course magnets work the opposite way, positive poles attract negatively charged ions and vice versa. I mean, that's grade school level science.

If the "law of attraction" were an actually law, it would be observable, consistent, and measurable. The same cause would bring the same result every time. Instead, what we see is a lot of anecdote where it appeared to work that way and a lot of other things are ignored or justified. No one ever tries to falsify it, just prove it with anecdote or scientific analogies that fail like the magnet idea.

I'm not trying to pick on you, but let's look at some of your examples. As discussed, if writing about sibling incest made a writer a pedophile, a lot of authors would be pedophiles. George RR Martin and Orson Scott Card, right off the top of my head. I know of no such reports. Great writers are generally very creative people and the best ones explore their shadows but that doesn't mean everything they write, they do. Like I don't think Thomas Harris is a serial murderer or cannibal, as another for instance.

If Michael J Fox had manifested Parkinson's by playing a time traveler in three movies, every actor who'd ever played Doctor Who would have developed Parkinson's.

What you're saying about poor little Heather O'Rourke I don't understand at all.

Again, I'm not trying to pick on you, but you raised an issue that is really a sticking point for me, one I've written about at some length. Patterns that reproduce themselves with far more regularity than the LOA aren't called laws. It's just not a workable construct.

    ReplyDelete
  117. Oh and I forgot to say: I changed my mind on Sarbdeep. He must be a fool if he still believes the arcturian story and Teal master illusion. Not so smart at the end of the day...even he looks and talks smart.

LV I know you wrote a bit about it already but WHY WHY WHY jump people like Stewart (angel voice man) and other channels and gifted people on the boat of the holy angel teal? I mean....they cant be all blind. Is it really following a hype and a potential promise to get a ride on her tale of fame? WHY IS NOBODY OF THEM reading it?

  118. A year ago I went to my crystal lady shop where i always find the most amazing crystals. she is very gifted and sees with the invisible eyes. I was still suffering under the Teal fever and mentioned her and told a bit here and there. She glared into the room and ignored me for 10 seconds. then she focused back on me and said..." Oh... Santa does exist and brings many presents."...then she got distracted with another customer...hahahha. Obviously I don't need to mention that I thought she was crazy for this kind of strange comment. :D smart crystal lady... didn't mess up my trip until I arrived home myself.

Seriously - how can you trick these extra sensory people who are still very much in touch with there gifts???

    ReplyDelete
  119. you know...yesterday it hit me hard.
you can find "evidence" in the manifested and invisible world for ANY kind of thought. EVERY THOUGHT can be proofen to be "right / true". What's the whole point of figuring out "a" truth if you can make anything true to you.

LAO and all the other stuff with alien tales etc....is centred around confirming or rejecting thoughts. no wonder it creates such a mess and fake shortlived happiness. I think I return to my roots - instead of reshaping and forming and running after thoughts I shall see them for what they are: stories of the mind. When indulging in thougth activity and thought selection...you have to live with both sides of duality because they are created by the mind which tries to focus desperatly on them to stay alive. To return to the point of heart....is literally being an observer of thought and its naming and cutting and creating process. every thought is welcome and every one of them creates the world and none of them are you. Important to be aware of. that's all. thoughts are not your enemy but if you "think" that you can control them...good luck :D

  121. Andara, I had the same thoughts on Mr. Swan, especially after one of the recent podcasts where Sarbdeep seemed so sure that Teal is really some kind of messiah who graces our earth only once in every few thousands of years or so. Maybe he knows something we don't? He is constantly by her side and sees her in another light? And she channels his Higher Self or performs other "miracles" for him from time to time to keep him convinced or entertained ;-)? Or is it because he is so invested on so many levels by now? And officially is not just a husband but an active member/employee of her team as well? And he wants to believe he is contributing to the world this way? This is something important to him at this stage of his life, he want to help people. Suddenly he is doing something he thinks meaningful, busy organizing these kind of event, etc, etc. Life's got all exciting, no lonely watching tv anymore...
I'm puzzled too, cs he seems intelligent enough to start realizing at some point that her teachings a) not original; b) not constructively helpful and full of confusing contradictions; c) not accurate at all sometimes. Maybe he is reading all those fan "thank you" letters by people who think their lives are changed thanks to her. I can see how people can get high on the tea-laid for some period, I'm interested what the long term effects of swallowing this stuff continuously would be. I mean, we have a few stories shared here as well, about lives almost broken due to all that "inspiration".

I didn't see the whole thing, only the beginning, then random click mid video (booo-ring) , and then I read a comment below that "something weird happened in the end" so I clicked to see the last few minutes and yeah- have you seen that (48:20)? Funny. Also I couldn't help but notice Sarbdeep's very rapid eye movement starting at 44:10. All that information processing I suppose, or scanning for new thoughts and ideas to voice or is it a bodyguard habit? :-)

  123. Noncast: Weight Loss pt 1

“Most people do not listen with the intent to understand; they listen with the intent to reply.” ~ Stephen R. Covey, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People: Powerful Lessons in Personal Change

And teal most of all. Watch her in this most recent tea thing. If she doesn't have something to say, she's not interested. And their guest Zach Moyer is a talker. He was obviously invited to tea to tell his story and he did. They also had no tea for Tea Time again, so he had nothing to do but talk. He was sincere, open, and forthcoming about his recent weight loss and teal was bored to death. Her discomfort at not being the center of attention was palpable. She faked the funk for a minute or two before she started to look agitated, even angry.

Watch the difference between her body language and Sarbdeep's in that opening sequence. Sarbdeep remains quietly focused on Moyer when he's talking. Whereas teal plays with her hair, stares directly into the camera, remembers occasionally to face him and nod, and then goes back to her happy place. She's unbelievably distracting -- even when she's obviously trying not to be.

A few minutes in she's telling their guest that he's absolutely right about his own cultural background. Yup. She knows all about Jews and food... because she's a shiksa from Utah.

I don't think teal is capable of actually having a conversation. She's either lecturing people -- just tellin' everybody how it all works -- or she's withdrawn and sullen. She doesn't interact with people. She just hijacks a conversation at intervals.

My husband noticed the copy for Tea Time this week. He'd just hadn't seen it before. I can't remember if we discussed this before on this thread, but it's a riot.

"Teal and Sarbdeep come together each week to discuss specific spiritual topics in depth. The format of this podcast facilitates learning as Teal teaches and Sarbdeep plays the voice of reason. This thought provoking podcast promotes expansion and helps the watcher to cultivate a deep understanding for their life." [emphases added]

Sarbdeep is the "voice of reason." No kidding. So why is she teaching if he's the reasonable one?

It's noticeable when it's the two them but when they have guests, even more so. Sarbdeep actually knows how to talk to people. He asks questions, listens to the answers, then asks clarifying questions. I might actually have enjoyed this if it were just Sarbdeep interviewing Moyer.

A little over four minutes in, when Sarbdeep is in the middle of asking a clarifying question, teal just interrupts them both and with no apparent awareness of how rude and jarring it is. Moments later she does it again. They're talking about psychiatric medications, which we know by now is one of teal's triggers. Moyer was on a number of SSRIs for ongoing depression and, like many people on SSRIs, he gained weight. It's a known side effect. But teal would have us know that in the "psychiatrist community," they call that a "cocktail."

Of course, cocktail is a medical term for any drug regimen involving multiple drugs.

    ReplyDelete
  124. Noncast: Weight Loss pt 2

But teal would also have us know that giving a kid a "Prozac pill" provides a 50/50 chance between them becoming homicidal and getting better. Maybe she's being intentionally hyperbolic but you never know with teal. She routinely invents statistics. This is, of course, false on both counts. There is a problem with both homicidal and suicidal ideation with SSRIs, but it's nowhere near that high. Nor is the cure rate as high as fifty percent. In fact, the dirty little secret that is worming its way out of the "psychiatrist community" is that the serotonin theory of depression remains unproven and SSRIs like Prozac test out only very slightly above placebo. They're in fact prescribed for the placebo effect in many cases, unethical as that is. They're placebos with side effects... such as weight gain.

When Sarbdeep redirects the conversation back from magical statistics to their guest, teal stares into the camera and then off into the middle distance. Said my husband, "What is she looking for? Sasquatch?"

About twelve minutes in, she shoehorns in her "childhood trauma" meme. Fat people are emotionally starving because of childhood trauma. If only the rest of us could see their skinny, shrunken energy selves! Moyer just looks a little perplexed by that but presses forward with his own ideas about toxicity and those pesky animal proteins.

Moments later teal is off and running and telling people what they "need to understand." And even though she starts by saying, "yeah" as if to affirm his point, she abruptly announces that fat is a shield. It's about protection. "End of story!"

I thought people gained weight because they were emotionally starving. So that's childhood trauma that somehow causes emotional starvation aaaaannnnd protection. End of story!

And see, fat is protecting us from all those toxins. Fat cells are toxin sponges. "Scientifically."

When you announce that something is scientific, it's a good idea to name the source because science is a method of inquiry, not a book of immutable facts. Needless to say she doesn't cite a single study.  Fat stores nutrients and energy, one presumes, not to protect us from them, but for later use if necessary. So are fat cells holding toxins for later use, too? Probably not.

The idea that fat cells protect the body from toxins is, to say the least, debatable. The same can be said about most health, nutrition, and weight loss approaches. As I said when the topic was vegetarianism, bodies are highly individualized things, and different people need to figure out what works best for them.

Dare I say it, when it comes to weight management, there is no one size fits all solution. And not everybody's weight problem has the same cause. But that's teal all over. She has lots of opinions. She's never wrong. And she will tell you what's wrong with you and what you need to do about it. What she will not do is listen.

If it wasn't clear that teal has nothing but contempt for anyone who has a different opinion, one need only look at minute 15:24 of this video. It's even in printed out in the closed caption.

"The number one thing people want to bug me about is why are you saying that it's not okay to be fat."

Oh people! With their questions!! Just because they don't get why this self-described "skinny chick" is fat-shaming them, why do they have to "bug" her?

    ReplyDelete
  125. Noncast: Weight Loss pt 3

Well, it's because all obese people are toxic. So there you have it. Now stop bugging her. And don't ask her to cite the body of research that supports that position because she can't be bothered with that either.

What I find deeply ironic here, is that the major complaints you hear from people about traditional, allopathic doctors, are that they don't listen and they don't treat their patients as unique individuals. For decades now people have been running towards holistic health practitioners to get away from exactly that kind of rigidity and insensitivity. When all you have is a hammer, every problem looks like a nail, and traditional medicine is all hammer. But so is teal. She just has a different hammer. And she will beat you to death with it.

Don't bug her with your contrary opinions. And do what she says, because if you're not doing what she says to do, it probably means you want to kill yourself. And why not? Meh. You'll be back.

So, all fat people are emotionally starving... and being protected by fat. End of story. Except it isn't. Actually people are fat, we learn about seventeen minutes in, because they wanted to meet everybody's needs and couldn't. We learn this because Moyer, in describing what it was like being obese, says that as an obese person he felt his only value was in what he did for others. And teal announces that this codependency (my word, not hers) that he has just described as the result of his obesity is it's cause. No one seems to notice that she's just put the cart before the horse. It's that great a cart. In fact, she explains, that's the root cause of all weight problems -- not being able to make everybody else happy.

So that's: childhood trauma that somehow causes emotional starvation, protection, aaaaaannnnd codependency. Each of these things is THE cause of obesity. Could these be interrelated problems? Sure. But that's not what she says. She just keeps announcing THE cause of ALL obesity... and we're up to three.

About halfway through, as Moyer describes how he learned to find motivation in the outside world and Sarbdeep echoes what he's saying in a clarifying question, teal begins shaking her head and announces that they're wrong. It only seemed like that, she tells the man who is talking about his own life. Really, he has to have turned inward first.

Why? His story doesn't fit her paradigm. And teal is never wrong.

When Sarbdeep splits the difference and suggests that both are true, teal says, "Obviously," as if she hadn't just been telling Zach Moyer that he was misinterpreting his own life story.

At 23:05, teal demonstrates the size balls she must have to tell someone he's wrong about his own experience.

When Moyer begins to reclaim his personal narrative and talk about how trust and the knowledge that everything was temporary were crucial for him, teal suddenly announces that this is how she got through her "suicidal bouts." Not that she wants to get "morbid" -- because teal almost never goes morbid -- but it was time for a reminder that teal is the real victim here.

Proving that there's no idea she won't co-opt, when Moyer talks in glowing terms about "the most in alignment with universal truths and principles" weight loss author Jon Gabriel and his method of starting by adding good foods, instead of subtracting bad ones, teal says, "Exactly." And don't you know that how she works with her weight loss clients, too. And so begins another torrent of words from teal.

    ReplyDelete
  126. Noncast: Weight Loss pt 4

"Exactly," teal says again moments later when Moyer explains that feelings of low self worth are the reason he became fat in the first place.

So that's childhood trauma resulting in emotional starvation, protection, codependency, aaaaaannnnnd low self esteem. Our four... amongst our reasons...

No one expects the Spanish Inquisition!!

    http://youtu.be/Ixgc_FGam3s

Some of the advice they all give is good, I think. The factual claims needs a good deal more scrutiny and research. But few of us would argue that vegetables are important to a healthy diet. One can, however, argue that they're so affordable and accessible. When Moyer breaks down the reasons people think they can't afford to eat a healthy, vegetable based diet, it's pretty clear that he's talking about white people problems. Moyer thinks they're wasting money on restaurants and alcohol and they should go to the supermarket more. Moyer clearly comes from some affluence. He eats two avocados a day. I buy mine at Costco and I think that could get really expensive.

And teal would have you know that meat is more expensive than produce. Seems to me that depends on the meat and the produce we're talking about. Still, white people problems. They all seem blissfully unaware that for the urban poor, supermarkets are as rare as rubies and fresh produce is neither abundant nor affordable. Try to eat a healthy vegetable based diet when your food sources are fast food chains and bodegas. But that is the reality in poor, urban neighborhoods. So if we're going to talk about what's affordable, maybe it's a nice idea to include people who have genuine financial problems.

Later they do touch on some issues of economics and social justice and there it just gets stranger. It all starts when teal makes some claims about food labeling that just aren't true. There is definitely some wiggle room in labeling laws that allows them to be pretty misleading, but a label can't claim zero sugars when sugar is listed third on the ingredient list. And that is what she claims.

Sarbdeep makes the wonderful suggestion that instead of just taxing things that are bad for people, to discourage them, governments should subsidize healthy foods. Great idea. Here's the problem. Governments don't really tax those things to discourage people. That's the stated reason. But we tax alcohol and cigarettes, for instance, because exploiting people's addictions is a great and steady source of revenue. And like all sales-based taxes, it's regressive. Yay!

That said, it's a great idea. But then teal goes wandering off into fantasy land again as she explains that food subsidies for poor people really only pay for food that's bad for you.

"That's the case with us, with our WIC programs and everything that are, are providing people with foods that don't have money for foods. What you'll notice is that produce is not really a major option for them. Maybe they can buy celery but we know that like as far as produce goes that's not the one you want to be eating, right? But then they have endless amounts of money in coupons for you to go buy milks, for you to go buy anything the government is benefiting from because they're making money off of it."

So the government is making money from dairy sales? Buy subsidizing them? What?

    ReplyDelete
  127. Noncast: Weight Loss pt 5

And what does she have against celery all of a sudden? Pesticides maybe? Celery is one of the dirty dozen but that also includes apples, which are sprayed to death. But she just recommended apples for people who are so fat they can't get out of bed. Seems to me that all their fat cells would just sponge up those toxins, which is good... or bad... I can't remember...

She names WIC specifically, but that's only one program and it's for women, infants, and children, as the name would imply. Those programs vary from state to state and you can look a the various guidelines here. Fruit and vegetables are generally near the top of the list, and invariably included, in these state guidelines.

The primary program for feeding the economically disadvantaged is SNAP, aka., food stamps. If we want to talk about government programs for people with food insecurity, that's the one. But food stamps aren't designated for specific items. They're used just like money and they can be used to purchase any food item. They just can't be used for alcohol, cigarettes, or non-food items. You can also buy seeds and plants to grow your own food with food stamps.

Once again, teal has no idea what she's talking about. Why does this never stop her?

I have many areas of disagreement with teal, on principle. But reasonable people can disagree about all kinds of things, particularly when it comes to spiritual belief. Freedom of religion is my religion. People who like her ideas are welcome to them. But when it comes to matters of fact, no one should ever take what she says at face value. She invents facts at ninety miles an hour and they just never check out. It would bother me less that she is so often wrong on fact if she weren't proclaiming herself to be such an authority -- speaking from universal perspective and all -- and with such an air of certainty, such conviction. It's really kind of terrifying.

As another for instance, we learned from teal this week that there is no correlation between calcium intake and milk. Uh huh. So let's do this. Here's an article from Joe Mercola -- no fan of the "cow industry" as teal calls it -- and see what he has to say about milk and calcium. I'm not a fan of pasteurized milk, myself, so I agree with Mercola there wholeheartedly. Raw milk, hard to get, but it turns out there's a lot of absorbable calcium. And yogurt is a good source of calcium. So, even if we look to the nondairy camp, so well represented by Joe Mercola, we learn that teal is, once again, wrong. There is absolutely a correlation between calcium intake and milk products.

This episode just got stranger and stranger, for some reason. From around the mid-point, Sarbdeep looked more and more distract. By the end, he seemed really tense and hyper-vigilant. Perhaps there was a sasquatch or some other kind of threat? He is a bodyguard, after all.

But the strangest part was that teal actually recommended people away from her own services. When does she ever do that?! Oh, right. When it comes to fat people, because, you know, she's skinny. She's always been skinny so she doesn't really know that much about being fat. She just can't relate. Did I mention that she's skinny? Well, she is. Always has been. She's a skinny chick.

Such are the priorities of the spiritual catalyst: First and foremost is drawing attention to her body and attractiveness. Much farther down the list, helping people heal.

She's probably right, though, that people who struggle with weight issues would probably rather hear from people who have dealt with the same set of issues. For this she volunteers her guest. He's happy to talk to anyone in chat forums. He will make himself widely available. Look: here's his email address, right at the end of the video!

Now what was THE reason that people gain weight -- among the four reasons that people gain weight all of which are the THE reason? Oh right. People gain weight because they think they need to meet everyone else's needs and can't set proper boundaries. Codependency, in other words. So, I'm sure that making himself available to fat people everywhere for free is just what Zach Moyer needs.

    End of story!

  129. GREAT non-cast.

Two physical signs in the upper middle class of white bread America flashing "Pathetic Loser" is "bad teeth" and fat.

I love talking food and I have fattened and thinned in various stages so I feel to "weigh" in on losing the loser by loss of fat.... we need experience and she says she has none from what I read above?

....HOWEVER, I perceive that Teal HATES her inner Fatty. I intuit that she will never have a good day if she has gained a pound. She has mentioned food in several blogs and I gather she is proud of her body which if OMG she allowed to be fat would deeply feel a shame.

Her tight body control glares as tension that I see in her stance.

The access to fresh food is a general condition if one is looking at vegies..(even groceries have produce that is OLD before we can buy it). The big issue in urban and suburban areas is also cooking. people don't cook NEARLY as much and that is a big
    area for regeneration.....

I have my own theory...there are as many reasons to be thin and fat as there are people. The blanket judgement on body size is very scripted. Our perception of what is valuable take the "issue" and make it one to comment on. Otherwise she'd not be talking "weight" but nutrition or something else.

Teal gives ever more evidence of how she is just another cloned woman in a cloned world in closed space of ideas and ideals she has embraced. She is ever more squeezed by the small space open to her perceptual field.. ...... I

In addition to perceptions that have been crafted by media, white people in Utah don't associate with any other kind of people. No wonder she thinks she "knows" all about other cultures...she grew up in the Empire where people think their customs are the only ones possible.

Just yesterday I was on Atlanta's subway Marta and saw so many DIFFERENT people with various styles and size. Teal might surprised that a woman might look at her and pity her scrawny ass?

  130. LV as mentioned in previous posts I do not believe the LOA is a valid "law" and it goes against nature. It was constructed in our reality upon the Fall of humankind as a luciferian lie that allows for us to be like GODS. I do believe people can use it and it appears to "work" but it is a HOUSE of CARDS. I feel that people can rip into the fabric of LOA unknowingly, hence my theory on actors/authors who take on their role so completely. But again....is it consistent. NO. I agree it is NOT A LAW and I think it is from the DARK SIDE.

    ;-)

  131. Maggie, I don't think we need to look any further than the fact that teal said she was designed pretty and white so that people would pay attention to her "on every continent" -- that she said that African women are "pretty ugly" by American standards. Her racism and bigotry are as plain as the nose on her pretty, white face. And of course, she also praised Hitler.

It's no wonder she can't handle big cities very well. Remember when she went to Atlanta and slagged, not only Koreans, but Asians in general? She's astonishingly tone deaf when it comes to race. Affirming for a Jewish man that he's exactly right about his own culture is tame by comparison. And she knows nothing about the reality for people of color in the inner cities. Nothing. A lot of suburban white people don't, but they don't claim to be here to reach people on all continents... by being pretty and white. Just astounding.

    ReplyDelete
  132. I see, earthpicked. I guess I misunderstood the point you were making re: the LOA. I'm still not sure I take your meaning.

I think the so called LOA probably stems from the reflective nature of our reality. We see reflections of ourselves everywhere, good, bad, and indifferent. I think we all perceive this to some degree and this got mislabeled as a law, with the worse idea that we could control it from a place of ego. I don't view it that way. I think we get a lot more from observing those reflections when we take the opportunity to learn from them about ourselves -- again, listening instead of always talking.

So what's wrong with being as gods?

  133. "Oh and I forgot to say: I changed my mind on Sarbdeep. He must be a fool if he still believes the arcturian story and Teal master illusion. Not so smart at the end of the day...even he looks and talks smart."

Oh, GA. Lighten up on poor Sarbdeep. How hard has it been for you to break the teal spell? She met a need for you, reflected something for you at some point, right? You're a smart woman. This stuff is never about any lack intelligence... as the former con man said (see above). We're all vulnerable in the right set of circumstances.

To say that I relate to Sarbdeep would be an understatement. He's and ACOA. I'm an ACOA. He worked as a personal assistant to celebrities. I worked as a publicist. These fields are magnets for ACOAs. We're just so used to taking care of dysfunctional people and meeting endless needs.

And I can totally relate to feeling like everyone knew more than I did and latching onto teachers who I thought were the answer, only to have them steal power from me at a cyclic rate. Been there. Done that. Bought the T-shirt.

And in terms of cognitive dissonance, think about how much Sarbdeep has invested at this point. He moved to another country and got married. He's all in. If his thoughts start to clash with those actions, things will get very uncomfortable.

If you want to understand cognitive dissonance, consider that people baked themselves into severe injury and death in James Ray's sweat lodge over 10 grand. It's a documented fact that James Shore wanted to back out of Spiritual Warrior but James Ray doesn't give refunds, so... People even testified that they sat, delirious in that heat, wanting to leave but wanting to get their money's worth, so...

This is something every con artist understands. Get a material commitment from someone and you've got them. They will need their thoughts to match their tangible actions going forward. Sarbdeep has made a sizable material commitment.

  134. ......wait a minute.....

Can't people just get fat because they do not have access to a balanced diet or because they grew up in a household where a poor diet of fast food and junk food was prevalent?

Whyyyyyyyyyyyy does everything have to do with a childhood trauma. I know plenty of spiritually rich obese people.

mooooooooooooooving on. Im over this freak show. Its a train wreck in which rubber necking is a guilty pleasure, I must admit.....
but the SUN IS SHINING and Teal is not.

  135. "Can't people just get fat because they do not have access to a balanced diet or because they grew up in a household where a poor diet of fast food and junk food was prevalent?"

Or because they have a thyroid condition or food allergies or any number of health conditions known or unknown to medical science? Or because they live in cultures where voluptuousness is coveted? Or because maybe they just like to eat?

There are so many reasons people are heavy, and some of them are perfectly happy that way and tired of being told something is wrong with them.

But teal likes one size fits all solutions to real and imaginary problems. If there's more than one possibility she can't play cosmic answer lady and have everybody "Ask Teal" what the answers are to everything under the sun.

“Be patient toward all that is unsolved in your heart and try to love the questions themselves, like locked rooms and like books that are now written in a very foreign tongue. Do not now seek the answers, which cannot be given you because you would not be able to live them. And the point is, to live everything. Live the questions now. Perhaps you will then gradually, without noticing it, live along some distant day into the answer." ~ Rainer Maria Rilke

I think this really gets down to my fundamental disagreement with teal. I'm all about questions and process, not pat answers because I just don't think they exist. And I don't think that's the point. And it's only made worse by the fact that she contradicts herself all over the place and that she's demonstrably wrong on so many documented matters of fact. Doesn't anybody notice this? I really do feel like I'm taking crazy pills when I watch these things. She just makes shit up, but she's never wrong. People like that are bloody dangerous.

  136. The celery thing was buggin' me. It's just weird. Celery is good for you. It's rich in antioxidents, fiber, and other really good things. It's a little high in sodium, so that should be considered, and obviously if you're allergic to it, that's a concern. It's one of those allergens that can trigger anaphylaxis in some people -- more common in Europe than the US for some reason. It's like peanuts over there -- celery free zones in schools and such. Strange. But if you're not allergic or particularly salt sensitive, it's a very nice vegetable. I don't know what in the hell she was talking about there.

  137. I just discovered that you can plant the bottom part of a bunch of celery and grow it indoors all year long. I doubt I will get the big fat stalks like they sell in the stores but I don't care! My first celery plant is already planted, I'm so excited!

But of course this is not a gardening forum so I probably should say something about teal since that is what this blog post is all about. Ummm, let's see, hmmm, uhhh... well, sorry, I'm just more interested in celery these days than in teal. And spa water, and the blackberries I just discovered growing in my backyard, and any number of things other than teal. If I didn't enjoy LaVaughn's noncasts so much I'd be long gone.

    ReplyDelete
  138. I did not know that about celery. I know there are a lot of vegetables you can grow from clippings, though. Ginger root, I hear. I love ginger root. But, I haven't tried it myself. Most of my gardening knowledge is entirely aspirational.

I love blackberries, too. They were growing wild all over the place at the yacht club we used to go to when I was a kid. That and elderberry trees. My mother used to make elderberry cobbler. It was a lot of work and there was some risk of coming face to face with a copperhead, but it was worth it. I think. Well, I'm still alive, anyway.

    ReplyDelete
  139. OK... I do have something to say about teal! At the beginning of this tea thing where she shot her sullen gaze so pointedly into the camera... I concluded that she was pissed off at Blake (and probably Sarbdeep too) for setting her up for the mind numbingly boring ordeal of having to listen to somebody else wax enthusiastic about their success that she wasn't even getting the credit for. The dynamics between the 4 of them was excruciatingly uncomfortable, but then again everything about her is always excruciatingly uncomfortable. Creepy in fact.

    ReplyDelete
  140. Too funny... I've got a window open on my desktop right now on growing ginger indoors! I use a tremendous amount of ginger so I was thrilled to discover that even though it is a tropical plant I can grow it year round indoors!

And I am about to make a trip back up to the mountain where I lived for many years to get some cuttings off the elderberry bushes I had planted up there from cuttings that I got off a big sprawling bush in the mountains. Those little guys have now grown as tall as trees. Elderberry cobbler sounds delicious and I will have to try some, but I'm planting them in my backyard here so that I can make elderberry wine, which I LOVE! Fortunately I don't have to worry about copperheads where I am now, but they were plentiful up in the mountains!

I can follow your interpretation of Sarbs "foolishness" (my choice of word). Wellllll, at the end of the day he is a lover not a fighter. I rest my case.

Elena " Also I couldn't help but notice Sarbdeep's very rapid eye movement starting at 44:10"
:D made me giggle, yes! total overload of responsibilities and information or inner speed reading of mind maps looks like this. He also tried conciously to look into the camera but didn't feel comfortable. What the heck - not really important.

    LV
I really enjoyed the dialog between the guest and lover Sarbdeep. Although I never dealt with obesity, I can totally follow his experience. Teal was bored as fuck because nobody wanted to ask her for the truth because he was pretty much settled in his perceiption. The only thing she could say was: "yes", "hell yes", "exactly". At least that stayed with me from all her talking. The rest of the time she spent fixing her hair...again, typical model hair fixing. :D She is through and through still a selfconcious model.

  144. I forgot to say: LV it is getting boring to write every time "Delicious" after your weekly non-cast pops up. This weeks topic I (honestly) wasn't very interested in. For me THE cause of obesity is the lost string how your body feels and a non judgmental approach to food. My mother was a city child, my dad was a farmer. He brought the love for veggies, fresh food, cooking yourself to the family. Non of them suffered with obesity. I never ever heard that painful self hatred dialog of a person who just ate a ton of ice cream and is upset. Since i was a child, I was taught to eat healthy stuff AND shit and whenever i am hungry. also we always ate TOGETHER on a table. My mum always said: stop when you feel full. So she taught me to listen to my body and to understand very fast to use my body as a guidance system for food. And i appreciated from young age a light feeling in my body and HATED the heavy sticky feeling after too much choco .... She also said, that i shoudn't eat too healthy (always with a smile). I'll call this the worlds first most positive mind fuck ever (( : ...if you understand. Sometimes when i overeat and I look like pregnant.... I focus very much on the hunger feeling of my body. Usually the following days I eat less - NOT because I should...but because i really wasn't hungry. This relation ship between the feeling of your body after certain foods and food cycles and rhythm seems to be lost in many obese people. I don't know I can't relate to that fat-protection shield.

I also think that sport is abused as a savior for bad food habits. Sport should never be done to loose weight - only for keeping the juice moving in lympf and stretching the muscles. A daily walk should not be seen as sport exercise but an enjoyable important part of each day...or every second. (this paragraph didn't relate to obese people trying to loose weight with sport).

and pretty frankly I think that people who never learnt to cook are pretty much fucked in regards to their own body health. Unless you have a tone of money and a really good daily restaurant session. It is so important to love your food, to cook it yourself, to understand how it was created, what it does and most of all , how great it taste.

50% raw is a no brainer for a healthy body.

I hope this didn't came across arrogant or strange...I was just talking about my own relationship with food and I love it so much and it deserves every inch of my attention. A meal, a fruit, a veggie or a dirty dirty cookie is amazing to experience... every time, again and again.

  146. Well, someone was unprepared for the flame retardant teal must use on all her paintings to keep people from burning them. Hilarious. She's reptilian, you know. Oh my. Well, I know if I had one of her paintings, I'd probably want to burn, just because they make me feel extremely agitated. Total sensory overload with those paintings. Too many colors and too many jagged lines.

"no no nope , not pissed. I am a photographer, deal and dealed with many models. This is sexy eyes. sorry."

Don't be sorry. We're just going to have to agree to disagree on what's sexy. I guess that glaring into the camera thing could be sexy in a very dominatrixy way. She looks really hypercontrolling and mean to me there. But then, I'm generally mystified by her sex appeal. I just don't think she's attractive and a lot of her sexual come-ons are so manufactured and intense, I find it all nauseating.

Because he is a big fan of her, he goes with it. Teal is just focused on strengthening her positiion of the all knowing akashic record hopper. You don't need to visit AR in order to know that EVERY child had a lot of hick ups when growing up. I am not angry at Teal and I don't feel sorry for this lovely man to take this on board. I just find it fascinating how Teal is spinning her web with such boldness and sureness. He looks very confused and in disbelief but relaxes always into her sureness. I think I had the same experience. This sureness got me convinced. Why? I don't know. What is it about sureness?

Knowing Abraham Hicks Teachings and Byron Katie Teachings very well, I have to say that Teal combined them both and put a new name on it with her funny concept of spirituality 0.5, 1.0, 2.0 and now 3.0

This lovely guy was the prague workshop organizer and is a huge fan of T. He has the same energy as Sarbdeep, very gentle, benevolent and grounded and fascinated by LAO and its stardom.

I do need to compliment Teal to face any kind of question thrown at her and never being speechless....always coming up with stories. She indeed reminds me of the famous irish story tellers. The invent the limitless in their stories, so smart, so brilliant and hard to trace back if it was a true story or not. The lines are so artistically blury and crisp at the same time...they also have the sureness which is flooding the room during a story telling session.

Tonight I dreamt that I received a handwritten letter by Blake, stating that it is all true that this was planned as a business and that she made up most of the stuff in order to participate as this character & Business. But he also stated that she really fell in love with her role and contributes her own new ideas based on her own drive to be happy.

Thanks Blake! Received the letter ( :

  154. Dalano Artisan, a very sweet guy, and his new youtube channel "The spiritual Artisan" is the newest product of self concept created by Teal Swan. Dalano was in the "hot seat" at Teal's first london workshop where he found confirmation by Teal the spiritual catalyst, that he has actually two soul streams (or was it 3???) and that his purpose is to teach the world.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y2ncd7-Rv1E

Although very charming, funny and delightful, you can't ignore his own happiness experience after receiving so much security by Teal's statement about him.

I just want to state, that I have nothing against him - I only observe the dynamics of Teal juice in Tealers. Nobody really knew till now about Dalano but that will quickly change because he became the newest marketing tool of the brand "Teal Swan aka The spiritual catalyst" as a proof that her teachings DO awake kind souls on this planet. A lovely Facebook note on Teal's personal FB page states

    ---
"A member of our "tribe" has been transforming like crazy lately and today, he created the quote of the day as far as I am concerned. So here it is...

"I spoke my truth. And that was the aim and goal. I am now free as I have made the decision to be honest with all the mirrors in my reality. Unattached to their acceptance of me or not."

    By Dalano Artisan

(There seems to be a great desire to teach the planet. But first you need to be recognized by a master.... otherwise the whole thing doesn't work. 157. From GA's comment....

"There seems to be a great desire to teach the planet. But first you need to be recognized by a master.... otherwise the whole thing doesn't work."

This "credentialing" or lineage or other way of official recognition of value as in transmission of sacred connecting from generation to generation is something I think about. It is both looking for the authorization but bigger the deep longing to be recognized.

Is this valid and just became abused or was it an original glitch and mistake...it includes everything from"family" lines that "count" to tribal, NOW planetary imaginings. Then once the "key" individuals are identified...they can go anoint others like the bishops who claim they go back to Christ.

I have suggested or written something in my experience that only "meritous" thinkers received credit for at some other moment. In college examples of term papers that we write as lowly undergrads, we are overlooked or the ideas grabbed too.

Look at Graham Hancock and others who are outsiders in the scientific community that also anoints its brain children and approves their messages. This "authorization" business is one thing that drives me irritable....

It SUCKS that people seem to long for the anointing balm of being chosen and then CHOOSE others to be the special Eucharists not by sense or logic or anything but "who you know" and glamor. It doesn't matter at all if the suggestions are STUPID if we believe the right of that mouth to speak.

  158. I am with you on that one M2Y.
Also I feel the desire to be special, to be recognized as special
BUT I identified why I have such a subtle desire for that.
Because it is my idea that this would mean that THEY are right because I always trusted others more than me....GDR mindfuck. Anyway. I guess that's why I was so upset with Teal and finding out that most of it is pure phantasy.

So if They say it, they must be right. You don't need to be high priest or so for me to make this concept work. Peace follows and a short stop of self abuse with ugly thoughts.

I think the next step is the teacher surival technique because you get praised all day long....good remedy whenever you are depressed again and constant "specialness-supply" or feeling significant (as Teal stated as a reason why she is on stage in her last chicago workshop)

I think that the whole master linage system is questionable but worked perfectly in political and religious systems like Buddhism etc. However nowadays any kind of Reiki master turns sb who booked a workshop into another reiki master. You don't really know how high the standards are and what exactly the standards are to be called master.

I mean: I am the master in aura reading ... nobody knows that i only see some little colour. Thats it. But sb said that i am a master.

  159. I forgot to mention that "certifying" "student turns teacher" is a very important part of brand establishment in the new age spirituality business. She is still gentle with her words, testing the air. Wait until stage 2 and 3 is there and the world is flooded with "shadow work teachers" grade spirituality 1.0 and 2.0 and as her latest interview with nova zem stated, spirituality 3.0 is coming soon.

But this is all too early. Fist she needs to make more bugs with more own workshops before she can buy her castle, live there and let her "certified teachers" work for her.

Mhh... I may gave her a great idea now :D

side note: I promise you that Teal snorted the brilliant brilliant book of Byron Katie with Stephen Mitchell "A Thousand names for joy" which include Mitchell's translations of the Tao Te Ching. Byron Katie (I know that many of you guys are not a fan.... I love her to bits) writes her own thoughts to different paragraphs of the TTC. Teal is just turning one sentence into thousand with her gift for speech.

Lao-tzu's Book is in my eyes the most precious of all time.

They're not desperately studying 'spiritual laws' in order to become enlightened or practicing any religious dogmas to save their eternal souls. They're not following any rigid dietary program in order to purify themselves. They're not trying to force their opinions about 'the way things should be' onto the rest of the world, although I'm sure they have their own preferences and naturally migrate to them. They're not trying to save the world, they are simply enjoying it. And it sure looks like they are appreciating that fabulous landscape!

  165. The Spiritual Catalyst is a Cosmic Fool

And I am an even bigger fool to be fooled by another fool.

Nothing hurts more than fooling yourself

I soooo wanted to believe her fantastic stories to silence all these questions in me.

Teal never did anything to me - she just offered something and I took it.

Now I am mad that I took it.

I can only blame my own belief for that.

I will stop trying to proof the point that Teal is a liar, a manipulator and a very smart business woman.

It can't be seen by someone who is in love with the trip she is offering.

Just because I see it, it doesn't mean that it exist for others.

It hurts to be fooled by myself.

I honestly wish I wouldn't have all these questions and the deep desire to understand what I am.

These questions are painful because the answers don't last, change constantly.

These questions try to grasp for the opposite of change, for guidance from the "outside" world, and are born out of confusion and disbelief.

I could list now at least 3 more examples how Teal twisted the shit out of spiritual teachings to make herself look good. (I had a mini heart burn after watching her psychic attack video and how she made pudding out of the illuminati argument against her...gosh).

But I will not go into it as it is surely and purely none of my business.

My own business is to take care who I decide to belief, who I decide to guide my life, who I decide to give money for returning relief, who I decide to listen to.

It is hard to realize that I really wanted to belief other people more than myself.

I guess, this is the pain, wildly projected on Teal right now. I was so angry with her.

Now I don't feel it anymore

I thought she lied at me, betrayed and manipulated me

I lied at myself, betrayed myself and manipulated myself with following her down the rabbit hole.

    Teal OFFERS something, FREE.

How can I be mad at this.

  168. Noncast: Idiocracy pt 1

Note: My husband says many things that don't fit neatly into the narrative of these posts. Henceforth, I shall include some of these as stand alone quotes attributed to J.

The movie Idiocracy is about an America of the future wherein the cultural devolution that is already evident is taken to its natural conclusion.

"Advertising, commercialism, and cultural anti-intellectualism have run rampant and dysgenic pressure has resulted in a uniformly unthinking society devoid of intellectual curiosity, social responsibility, and coherent notions of justice and human rights."

I'm stealing the title to describe this week's tea thing because it is just that emblematic of a society in collapse. The sheer volume of stupidity is hard to quantify. The only thing that bothers me more than teal's astounding stupidity is that so many seemingly intelligent people, like Sarbdeep, take so much of what she says at face value. Is it really that hard to use the google?

Team teal is still working hard on the optics, which is to say, trying to make teal appear to be a normal, respectful human being. We noticed a couple of weeks ago that Sarbdeep has taken to gently, but firmly placing his hand on her knee when she's interrupting him and being rude. He did this more than once during this week's broadcast. They've also brought the camera in even closer to make these bits of business less noticeable. We also observed that teal has done away with the teacup completely. Let's face it. It wasn't working for her. She's just not capable of holding this beverage, that she admittedly doesn't like, in a manner that isn't a distracting affectation.

Such attempts to rein teal in are still undone by her total lack of manners. We weren't 30 seconds in to Sarbdeep's introduction before she yawned without even showing the good grace to cover her mouth. Even when she's not talking, the entire room is upstaged by her giant, gaping maw.

We also saw something this week that we don't believe we've ever seen in teal before: fear. A little more than a minute in, teal questions Sarbdeep about why he's smiling. He explains that he's grinning because he thinks "this is going to be fucking awesome."

    Says teal, "Okay, good."

Yes, thank goodness Sarbdeep isn't giggling because he finds what she's saying ridiculous.

Look at her hands during this exchange. She is, as my husband says, "white-knuckling it." Her hands are that tightly clenched. This is the first time we've seen teal, not so much angry at the possibility that Sarbdeep is questioning her perspective, as scared.

    ReplyDelete
  169. Noncast: Idiocracy pt 2

This may have been the most incoherent tea thing yet, and that is saying something. This noncast will, of necessity, contain a lot of transcription because there's just no way to do justice to the nonsense that issued from this woman's mouth. It can't be paraphrased because that would require understanding it, which is virtually impossible. And therein lies the secret of teal's success.

A few noncasts back I compared teal's logorrhea to Thomas Friedman's. The internal contradictions of her arguments are so voluminous that she overloads and shuts down the listeners' reasoning centers, rendering them more suggestible. Along those lines is a debating technique developed by creationist Duane Gish. The Gish Gallop buries the debating opponent in a pile of half-truths, straw men, and outright falsehoods. There is no way to debunk it all in real time. This is why my husband and I say that every half hour of teal requires a bare minimum of 90 minutes to weed through.

In the tea things, teal's opponent is Sarbdeep. Try as he might -- and he tries too hard -- he can't find common ground with teal. Nothing he says is good enough for her, even when he's essentially agreeing with her. By the end of this teacast, he lost his usually exquisite bearing. That was after a half hour of asking her in various ways to clarify her position. She never did. She only complexified it more and more.

She started out this week by insulting and condescending to her audience, so this outcome was fairly predictable.

"Well, I don't think the majority of mankind's pretty ready for the higher perspective on rules because the higher perspective on rules is that it doesn't make any sense."

Yup, we're just so not ready for the truth that teal is layin' down from her vaunted perspective well above us mere mortals. She's a charmer, that teal.

It turns out that the "higher perspective" is that rules are just silly.  That she calls this a "transcendental perspective," I just can't even deal with today, because this and this.

So what is this transcendent truth that we mere mortals just don't get? That the law of attraction makes the legal system irrelevant. But don't go thinking that it's an actual law. It's merely a tendency.

"And so any laws -- which are not laws. We use that word and we feel not free about them but when we use the word law, like the law of attraction, what that is is it's a tendency that will enable the facilitation of expansion within that time-space reality, right?"

Right? I don't know. Is it?

How far can she walk that definition back from any kind of clarity? It's a "tendency" to "enable" the "facilitation." These are what we call "weasel words." Weasel words are used to modify assertions of fact that aren't so factual.

    ReplyDelete
  170. Noncast: Idiocracy pt 3

The actual laws that scientists use to define the functioning of manifest reality don't describe tendencies. They are called laws because they have been observed in and out of the laboratory and found to be highly consistent and predictable. But I don't have to understand Newton's law of gravity to know that if I drop an object from any height, it won't tend to fall towards the ground. It will absolutely and quite predictably fall to the ground. I don't have to understand Archimedes's law of buoyancy to know that it's hard to push a inflated beach ball under water and that it will always float back to the surface. These are readily observable phenomena that repeat themselves with measurable regularity.

According to teal, the law of attraction has existed from "the beginning" but we've "lost the memory" that we create reality through thought. But how on earth could we forget something so fundamental that it always happens... or even has a high tendency to happen? If everything I thought showed up in physical reality, I expect I'd notice. I expect we all would. We might take regular phenomena for granted but we don't forget them. We don't routinely jump out of windows and wander off cliffs, because we know full well that the result of such activities range from injurious to fatal.

"With the law of attraction you have somebody within the environment and whatever they think then becomes what they attract. That is all it takes for someone to learn. You see how we could abandon all of our temporal human laws for that law which is the one which existed in the first place. You can't kill somebody else and not line up with the very same antagonism."

It's an interesting idea, but it completely ignores the fact that people commit murder and other violations of other people's liberty all the time without being consequenced as a matter of course. This is precisely why laws about things like murder are pretty universal. This is why we create laws, period. It's because we can in no way count on these things being self-corrective. Societies create laws because they have to. We consequence such behavior precisely because other consequences can't be counted upon to occur. Not even religious beliefs that there's a hell where bad people go or that karma will inevitably get them prevents people transgressing each other because there's no clear, consistent evidence of either. I agree that if, in human affairs, every action brought an equal and opposite reaction, there'd be no need for a justice system. We have a justice system because that just isn't the case.

Sarbdeep thinks some rules might be necessary and that they're probably as old as our earliest proto-civilizations, but teal explains that when cavemen transgressed each other it was just them lining up with each others' point of attraction. Then she grabs at Sarbdeep's crotch, announcing that she's taking his "meat." Just when we thought we might be mercifully free of crude sexual innuendo. No such luck.

I might even agree that even such primitive theft results from our disconnection from awareness that we are all source. This perception of lack starts awfully young, I say as one who has watched children play. Whatever the truth and our collective amnesia about it, we are disconnected. Taking each others' stuff is a global problem and it isn't generally as simple as taking stolen "meat" back.

    ReplyDelete
  171. Noncast: Idiocracy pt 4

As per teal, the obvious solution is to abolish all rules, let chaos reign for a while, and let it all sort itself out. To make the point she alludes to nameless studies and says that what "we" -- whoever the fuck "we" is -- are finding is that excessive rules in child-rearing makes for naughtier children. Here's the problem with pointing to studies and not naming them. We have no way to look at the source material and see whether or not the studies are on point or what they actually say.

I tend to agree with her general point that excessive restriction and authoritarian controls interfere with the development of an internal, ethical compass. In other words, if all our morals are imposed extrinsically, we don't develop an intrinsic framework properly. But, while that's a good argument against authoritarian leadership, it's a poor argument against any system of law, and I sincerely doubt that those studies, if they exist at all, say that.

According to teal, no diving rules at public pools are bad because they prevent children from learning that a bad dive is injurious. This was a little confusing, as all things teal are, because she provided no facts to back up any of her assertions. Diving is generally allowed in public pools, but it's restricted to areas where diving is safe -- off of diving boards, where the water is deep enough, etc. These rules vary, but I, personally, have never come across a pool where diving was entirely forbidden. It seems that teal and Sarbdeep have a particular rule in mind and that it's based on a particular incident in which three children either died or became paralyzed. Again, it's not clear from their conversation alone. Sarbdeep thinks that protecting kids from death and paralysis is a good idea, but teal would rather a few kids die than "hundreds and thousands upon people" (???) be denied the lesson that unsafe dives are a bad idea.

Sarbdeep seems a little uncomfortable with teal's cavalier attitude regarding the health and safety of children, but rather than risk conflict, he races for common ground. Kids are being "mollycoddled" by all these "health and safety," regulations in the UK. Kids are growing up self-absorbed and narcissistic because they've been too protected.

"Okay, grandpa. Flibbity floo." ~ J

So, fine, we get it. Sarbdeep is opposed to the nanny state. I'm not British. I don't know what laws he's talking about. Maybe they're excessive. I don't know. I have problems, myself, with legislative overreach on issues of personal liberty. For instance, I thought Mayor Bloomberg's war on soda was absurd, but then, so did the courts. Saying that there are bad laws that restrict personal liberty and calling for the complete abolition of all law is not the same thing. I don't think Sarbdeep is actually on board with that idea, either, but he avoids openly challenging teal. He suggests that maybe, in our "complex society" we might just need some "rules." It's "not perfect" he says, but it functions. But teal threatens that this is a "major argument" because it doesn't really function at all.

And then she moves the goalposts... all over the place:

"We have to make a distinction between guidelines and rules."

But "we" are already in trouble because "we" haven't even distinguished between rules and laws.

    ReplyDelete
  172. Noncast: Idiocracy pt 5

"Right? So like, let's pretend you're playing a game of Monopoly. There's a set of what they call 'rules' which are really more guidelines for how everyone's going to interact and that's how you play the game, right? But the thing about Monopoly is there's not major consequences for playing the game 'not right.' Make sense."

First of all, no, it doesn't make sense. And I find it strange that she would phrase that not as a question with an inflection at the end, but as a statement. "Makes sense." Secondly, I'm pretty sure that the manufacturers of Monopoly, like most games, call them rules for a reason. They're not guidelines. They're not suggestions. They're rules. And when we violate them, it's called cheating. It makes the other players very angry. I don't recommend playing board games with teal. I expect it's very frustrating.

"So it's when we introduce those consequences that we start to see this issue with laws, when it becomes a law, not a guideline, and it starts inhibiting freedom instead of existing as a mutually beneficial way for us to interact with each other, like road laws. And like in order to understand this whole issue with laws and freedom you have to back up all the way back to our childhood and it's all about the punishment reward system, which was a completely out of alignment way to raise people in the first place, because the punishment reward system essentially took the place of us learning from the consequences of our action."

So presumably if we let our kids do whatever they want, including risk death by sticking forks in toasters and so on, the ones who survive will grow up to be great drivers? In this utopian society, we'll just know intuitively when to stop and let other drivers through at intersections. We won't need signs or signals to tell us who has right of way. We'll never drive too fast through residential neighborhoods and run over kids who are busily exploring their freedom to run around in the street and learn from the consequences of those actions.

    Really? You sure?

As per teal, when parents correct their children in any way for anything, they become rebellious against authority and that's why prisoners blame the state, not themselves, for their own transgressions.

Sarbdeep would like a little more clarity about how this teal system of "freedom" would work for the average Joe.

    Strap. In.

"Well first you have to understand that you can't push against something and not feel that thing. Like anything that you're pushing against you are lending energy to and you're actually making it stronger. So think about like, think about pushing up against a wall but the wall is like liquid and the minute you push against it, it becomes like iron and then you let go and it becomes like liquid again. That's how most things in our universe work."

Most things... except liquids, metals, surfaces, and pressure.

Is this because the laws of physics aren't so much laws as they are tendencies?

I have to tell you that they tend to work very differently around me. Like when the movers put my husband's weights on the TV, do you know that the TV did not actually get stronger? It was actually crushed into bits. I have a lot of examples like that -- you know where pressure against objects weakened, damaged, or completely destroyed them. But I also don't live in a world where liquid forms into walls that turn into metal on contact. Where is that world? How much acid do I need to take to get there?

On this basis, that we shouldn't resist things, she moves straight to the civil rights movement. Ignoring that it was a movement of passive resistance -- and that it worked -- she explains that what is and isn't resistance is based on what feels in alignment for people. To make this point, she moves poor Rosa Parks back to the back of the bus and explains that her determination to sit there was effective because that's what was comfortable for her, where it wouldn't be for another notional black person. It's not resistance if we're moving towards something, instead of against something, and that feels right to us. That sounds like so much semantic quibbling to me. It seems to me that if something is blocking our forward movement, we're going to have to push against it. But I guess she needs to slice and dice this since she's been teaching non-resistance all this time and now she seems advocating some sort of revolution.

What kind of revolution does she want? Well, she's not really sure because she's just a spiritual teacher. So on all this specificity stuff she's willing to let other people develop these ideas. Whatever happened to her non-profit that was going completely remake society??? But, no, she'll let the New Earth people or someone else handle the deets.

She's not worried about casualties, though. Because, you know, inevitable. Why? Lawsuits. They're ruining everything. Like the lady with the hot coffee. Although, "most people don't know" that she was "super hurt" by that and got "third degree burns." But now, because of that lawsuit there's a law regulating coffee temperature. Which is good... or bad... but it will lead to revolution. Which is good... or bad...

I really have no idea what she's saying here. Seriously, listen to teal's rant starting at around the 16:00 minute mark, in response to Sarbdeep's pragmatic suggestion that we need to have some laws now, because society is the way it is. Tell me she doesn't sound like Tina Fey doing Sarah Palin... only more convoluted.

But let's start with the hot coffee problem. On the one hand teal acknowledges that the woman's injuries were severe. On the other hand, she still thinks lawsuits are stupid, as is making laws to respond to such public safety issues. But there is no law resulting from this case. No legislation has been passed to date in the US regarding coffee temperature. McDonald's lowered their serving temperature by ten degrees. Their coffee temp was substantially higher than other chains and it's still ungodly hot -- so hot that a small droplet raised a blister on my friend's finger when she was putting it in the cup holder of her car recently. Here's an overview of the common misperceptions regarding the hot coffee lawsuit.

Be that as it may, critics of the hot coffee judgment use it as an argument for tort reform. But for teal it's a rallying point for the abolition of the entire judicial system. Wow. So people should just stop suing people and take personal responsibility for everything bad that happens to them... even when other people are at fault. If your child dies because of some defective product, suck it up. Shit happens.

    ReplyDelete
  174. Noncast: Idiocracy pt 7

The irony here is that for all her disdain for corporate power, she's playing right into it. No one wants such lawsuits to stop more than the corporations that make, import, and/or distribute dangerous products. They'd like nothing better than for individuals to be "personally responsible" for everything that happens and their companies responsible for nothing no matter what horrible thing they do. What are the consequences for them if not lawsuits? What's their cause/effect corrective? Yet, somehow teal deduces that it's corporations not wanting to be sued that is somehow causing all these lawsuits, which is entirely backwards.

What's teal's answer to all these awful lawsuits and lack of personal responsibility, Sarbdeep would like to know. "So what is the realistic alternative?" he asks.

Says teal, "I don't see one. I would love to tell you that I see one but I don't see one, so. Until then it's basically about you individually lining up with what you would like to see happen and discerning from what doesn't feel good what you would prefer." [emphasis added]

So this is exciting. Here were are, nearly twenty minutes in and teal is finally going to explain where the law of attraction comes into all this. Because up to this point, she's been conflating ordinary consequences, like people hitting you back, with the law of attraction. But Sarbdeep would like to know how exactly this works. "How do you do that?" he asks.

"Well, I'll explain how this works."

This raises the question of what she's been doing all this time. It wasn't explaining how the law of attraction works and makes the legal system irrelevant and unnecessary?

"Anytime that you feel what is not wanted, you have to understand that you have given rise to the birth within the universe of the opposite preference. And that will be a manifested thing if you focus on it long enough."

So we're supposed to focus on what we don't want? That seems different somehow from what I'm used to hearing.

"So here's an example. What it seems like, when you have a kid, it starts to seem like they can't do anything. And it's super nerve-racking to bring them anywhere. I mean as a parent you don't even want to take your kid anywhere. Why? 'Cause you get yelled at for what they do in the store. They can't climb on carts. They can't touch items without asking. It just, it gets like too stressful to even go. Right? And I'm starting to feel that way with a kid even in public pools. So as a mother, what does that tell me that I want? I would like to be able to have my son somewhere where he can interact with other children but that doesn't have all these rules so that they can actually be kids still.

    ReplyDelete
  175. Noncast: Idiocracy pt 8

"Now I've delivered that within the universe which means that must exist. It has to manifest. It's the rule of our reality. Whatever we focus on must manifest. So. So. Maybe if I line up enough what I am a match to, which I actually did find is somebody who agrees. So what they've done is created this massive play gym, completely made of like blow-up foam material and it's like a place where your kid can go absolutely wild. They have no rules. None. Like they don't ever tell the kids to do or not do anything. It's like you sign a waiver when you first walk in the door that says, look, this is a free zone where kids can do basically whatever. That means if they punch each other, it's your job as a parent, basically to go over and police that if you want to. Otherwise, we're gonna let kids be kids. As a parent, it's like God, I can be like doing my work and at the same time not stressing out that my kid's getting yelled at for every single action. Sign on the line, right? Genius.

"So what I'm saying is, we have to realize that our, what we feel not free about gives rise to an intense desire and that must manifest if we're focused upon it."

So teal finds parenting unbearable because climbing on shopping carts is dangerous and then someone created a bouncy room as if by magic. Should we tell her that these things have been around for years? When my daughter was little we used to take her to Bounce U. That was the name of the chain in our area with giant inflatable activities where kids could run wild. We did one of her birthday parties there. Everyone did. We went to dozens of them. It was a great time.

As per teal, she was uncomfortable because parenting is hard and then someone else got off their ass and created something. But it's not that creating a safe environment for kids to wear themselves out is a new idea that she dreamt up and put out into the universe. It's a very old need that time and technology caught up with in a new way... long before she thought of it... or rather thought about it's opposite which was her misery at the basic requirements of parenting.

"Hey teal, guess what? I invented the wheel, movable type, penicillin, and the inside the egg scrambler. I did that shit. LOA'd it right into being. Lots of lawsuits pending. Oh, and Wikipedia won't let me change my profile page to reflect that. Or let me have a profile page at all, for that matter. Some bullshit aout how I'm 'not notable enough' and am 'unwell' and 'harassing.' So, that's another lawsuit." ~ J

But I think I'm getting the gist. It's sort of like how when I mentioned that the law of attraction wasn't a law, right here on this comment thread, I put that out into the universe. That idea exists because, you know, I focused on it. It has to be born in the universe. Then Blake read my comments and teal did a whole tea thing about rules in which she explained that the law of attraction wasn't really a law.

    Pow. Works every time.

As so often happens with these tea things, this one got crazier as it went along. The stupid reached its climax shortly after the 20:00 minute mark with a discussion of the "doorway." I guess this is their version of the aphorism, "When God closes a door, he opens a window," but it was nowhere near that pithy.

    ReplyDelete
  176. Noncast: Idiocracy pt 9

For this explanation of how the universe works, teal tries to give the floor to Sarbdeep, but Sarbdeep has no idea what she's talking about. "Well the dooah the the doorway about um -- we talk about a lot of things upstairs. I'm trying [inaudible mumbling]."

"This thing about birth control," says teal, attempting to cue him.

They quickly agree that she should explain it because it's actually her story. So in one of teal's rare attempts to give Sarbdeep credit for having a valuable idea, it turns out it's actually hers anyway. Sarbdeep is just left blinking in the headlights.

"You know what I like about you? Me." ~ J

So teal explains the important news of the day:

"Okay, so basically, the story goes is that our government, lovely congressmen, decided to pass a law that said that if the owner, or like the company of itself, like say it's an insurance company, decides that it is overwhelmingly Christian or Catholic or something or doesn't believe in birth control, then the company itself doesn't have to insure birth control. Right, right? So let's say you want your monthly birth control and you want that to be covered by your insurance, but the insurance company itself identifies as Christian, it doesn't have to pay for that anymore. So um I was on a little bit of a tangent about that this morning, super frustrated as usual. But what we're missing here when we get super frustrated about a law like that because we all know where that could go right? Okay, now we get ta forget the the sort of separation of church and state, that's a total fallacy, and let's go into a space where corporate controls law and now the corporate decides that it doesn't want to do something for some religious exemption and the law backs up the religious belief, right? So, so here we are now super frustrated about that but what's interesting about that is that it might open the door for good, too. So it could open the door for a lot of negative, right? So, so let's say that you don't believe in this surgery because of religious exemption now you don't have to cover that. This could just go errant to that degree, but..."

And teal is the one who supposedly read the relevant article. All the major elements are wrong except the central point: people of a particular religious bent who own companies will now be able to deny birth control coverage through their insurers. But it was not Congress. It was the Supreme Court. It's not insurance companies. It's privately held businesses who under the Affordable Care Act were required to include birth control in the insurance plans for their employees. Obviously we are talking here about Sibelius v. Hobby Lobby. SCOTUS decided this case in one of its 5/4 splits that left the three female justices frothing and spitting -- in very eloquent legal terms. I agree with teal on this, though. It's super frustrating.

  177. Noncast: Idiocracy pt 10

So teal hands the floor back to Sarbdeep to explain how all things bad have a flip side that is good because all thoughts must create their opposites or something. So Sarbdeep, a little clearer now on whatever the fuck she was talking about, explains:

"Yeah, I mean what we discussed was that that also works both ways. So that also means that everyone has the right to their religious freedom. So, for example, I think it was in the south somewhere there is um outside one of their state buildings they put up a someone had sort of paid for and put up a statue of some of their Christian missionaries or something like that, you know under the guise of religious freedom. But the Satanists there as well have put up a bigger statue of Satan with his horns and everything so the Christians out here are going nuts but they too have the right under the same rule, rule and the same law. Um, they have the right to express their religious freedom as well. So you know, what they don't realize or what we should realize is that once a law is enacted that opens the door for everyone as well. So we can go in on the same system, we can go in on that same train and ride it in as well."

I'm going to try to bear in mind that Sarbdeep is British and hasn't lived in this country very long. He seems blissfully unaware that we had religious freedom long before this decision came down -- more of it, really.

Sibelius v Hobby Lobby is part of a broader push by Catholic bishops and other religious organizations that I wrote about some time ago here. That the Supreme Court voted this way means that such patriarchal abuses of power are now enshrined in law. It reverses decades of precedent on how the First Amendment has been interpreted, which was specifically not to impose the religious beliefs of some people, particularly employers, onto people who don't share those beliefs.

This decision has nothing whatsoever to do with what the Satanic Temple is attempting to do in Oklahoma, which is not so much erect a statue as it is to challenge the constitutionality of placing a statue of the ten commandments on the grounds of the State Capitol. Whatever "doorway" opened there did so when a private organization paid for the ten commandment statue in order to circumvent the First Amendment, which separates the state from religion. I wrote about that legal snarl here. (Post includes Stephen Colbert's brilliant take-down of this absurd situation.)

So this was one of the dumbest conversations we've been subjected to yet in a tea thing. As my husband said, this is a woman who expects us to take on faith that she knows how the multiverse was created, the very nature of our reality, and she can't recite the basic details of what she read this morning -- a story that has been covered in painful detail in every news format available. As we've said before, there is something very frightening about a woman calling herself a teacher and dispensing information whose command of basic facts could be improved a thousand-fold by a cursory reading of a Wikipedia page. I rarely say this, but please hook this woman's cable back up. She is one of the few people on earth whose basic knowledge would be improved by watching television. Her reading comprehension is obviously nil. Her logical processes, worse.

  178. Noncast: Idiocracy pt 11

And am I the only who finds it a little odd that the woman who claims to be a survivor of Satanic Ritual Abuse is giggling and clapping with unabashed glee at the idea of Satanists erecting a statue of Baphomet playing with children? Baphomet, if you're at all unclear, is the goat deity depicted in the banner of teal's post here, in which she claims that I caused her immense pain by questioning her SRA narrative and misstates my views as doubting ritual abuse in its entirety. I don't.

"I'm proposing a new law (or "tendency to facilitate" or whatever) called teal's inversion: As the amount of time remaining for teal to talk batshit craziness decreases, her relative level/amount of batshit craziness increases exponentially. You're welcome!" ~ J

From there, the tea thing moves through a denouement that demonstrates just how ignorant they both are about the legal system. For instance, did you know that there are lawyers who actually work against the existing restrictions of certain laws? A lot of people didn't, says teal. And so we learn that teal had no idea that our legal system is, by design, an adversarial system in which opposing sides argue about how laws should be interpreted. There are defense attorneys, not just prosecutors. Who knew?!

According to teal these lawyers are not "out of alignment." But how on earth can that be when having a system of law is itself out alignment? If the very existence of laws is wrong, how can any practitioner of the law be in the right?

But teal is a font of such occult knowledge. For instance, did you know that there's a law against suicide? "Most people" don't know that. Did you know that police have to meet quotas because things like speeding tickets are relied upon for revenue? "Most people" don't know that.

I can only deduce that this near total ignorance about what "most people" do and don't know is a product of teal's self-absorption and near total ignorance. Because she didn't know something until fairly recently, "most people" must not have known it. Call it solipsism, call it narcissism, it's a very distorted view of the world. She just doesn't seem to get that a lot of this hidden info that "most people don't know" is common knowledge. She apparently never cared enough about what other people thougth to find out that most Americans have long known about things like quotas and suicide being illegal. Add these to the long list of well-known things that teal thinks she needs to enlighten us about because she just learned them yesterday.

As offensive as that is, it pales in comparison to the information she imparts that is simply wrong. People really don't know a lot of what she relays in this teacast because it's completely divorced from reality. For instance, most people don't know that hotels create laws about their swimming pools for our safety but their own. We don't know that because hotels don't create laws. They create rules. Legislatures create laws. We also don't know that putting our money in investments to bring in passive income, like teal does, puts the money in our hands, not that of the banks and corporations. I sure would like to know what investments she's making that don't involve either banks or big business. Billboards? Ugly dresses? What?

By the end of this Sarbdeep begins to lose his composure. He's air-drumming and rubbing his face. He's actually losing his ability to self-monitor. Perhaps this is because teal's summation completely  reverses her position and says that it's not so much that we have to get rid of all these laws as we have to think about what we will and won't comply with. We need to follow the money and consider whom all  these laws benefit. Like traffic laws -- she really seems to hate those. They apparently don't benefit anybody but whomever is raking in the dough because of all these quotas.

So who benefits from all those traffic tickets? Municipalities, because that revenue helps to pay for necessary infrastructure. I don't know. Maybe teal likes potholes? Traffic tickets also benefit communities by deterring reckless driving practices.

But here's what teal doesn't know: Quotas are illegal. They were always, shall we say, extralegal, but now more and more states are adding specific language that makes them illegal. Yes, all those laws and ethical rules that teal thinks are so ridiculous actually come down against this awful practice that she hates. Funny, that.

  180. This was the first Podcast of Teal which I couldn't, just couldn't make to the end. It was dumb, empty of any value, a blank content filler of 30 or so minutes. It was more like watching a very patient and highly motivated adult (Sarbdeep) listening to a kid on too much sugar. It must be exhaustening to walk constantly on thin ice and being constantly unsure when to push the child into a rant...by accident. It still does amaze me that Mr. Sarbdeep uses all power and strenght an love in him to hang on to the ship. Burn out is close. LV i will not call him a fool even he is one or he has a massive helper syndrom ore so. It is not important. He wants and need it.... obviously.

I just learnt about the content by reading your noncast. Also thanks for writing her words down (woman - YOU ARE PATIENT) ... they are empty and their only goal is to sound almighty, powerful and more right than Little Ayahuasca Earthling Sarbdeep.

I am pretty much convinced by now that his job is to gently bring some sense into Teal - very slow and gentle and love her out of this crazy idea. I do like to see how gentle he is with her. More and more he deletes her teachings by not saying anything or by gently disagreeing or by rolling his eyes and having a visible hard time to catch up.

I wonder how long it will take until he distinguishes his physical attraction to her and the recognition of his familiar teachings spoken by T. But maybe the main attraction is being part of the crew of a leader ship, servant, lover, friend, grounder, professional manager. BUT in a way i am not interested in it anymore. He seems to like it. So all the best to them.

    LV I adore your humor.

  181. I understand the basis of what teal is trying to say - even though I could not make it through the whole video...maybe she will grow to express her ideas (and the ideas she has pilfered, hehehe) more effectively as she matures, but I'm not holding my breath.

Personally, I do not consider it my duty to follow any man-made rules or laws that I don't agree with. If, for example, I want to collect the buds off a cannabis plant and smoke them then I will, I don't care what idiotic laws are in place trying to keep me from doing that... no government has the right to tell me what I do with my own body and plants that grow in nature.

And if it's 3AM and I'm sitting at a notoriously looooonnng red traffic light at a deserted intersection in the middle of nowhere with not another car in sight I'm not gonna continue to sit there just because that light bobbing up there in the breeze is not green, Of course, if a cop just happens to be walking out of a 24 hour doughnut shop and witnesses my act of self-determination and gives me a ticket anyway in spite of my pointing out the commonsense and good judgement that act was based on... all because he is not a sane and sensible man but rather a macho, gun-toting authoritarian, then I just have to suck it up... shit happens. :)

I believe our outer world infallibly and consistently reflects our inner landscape. I totally understand how it could be called a 'law of creation'. I totally understand how difficult it is to try and express in words concepts of love and freedom that are beyond words. Especially when you are trying to share those concepts with fellow humans who are unwittingly entangled in the net of fear that seems to have been dropped on this planet.

Countless laws and gangs of gun-toting cops trying to enforce all those laws is not a solution to fearful things, they are themselves a by-product of fear. Choosing love is the solution to fearful things. And choosing love again and again whenever fear sneaks up behind you (or jumps in your face).

The trick is learning to recognize fear for what it is, even if it's hiding behind a 'reasonable' mask, or is "wearing loves clothing again"... it pays to be wary because fear is a master of disguise.

It requires diligence and determination to be able to find love wherever you are looking, and that's a fact, but it's also a fact that Love is the 'magic elixir', it is the answer to everything. Some people are not ready to hear that, and that's ok, but I had to say it anyway.

  182. I always tune into the smart and funny take of the LV and J noncasts.

    Was her title Idiocracy

I would not be able to sit through watching the teapoddy because I am full of my own opinion about the nature of rule (the underlying natural order as in geometry expressed as in sacred as in we do not yet fall up), and law (the cultural codification of such) and as much as I am stubborn....I DO think we perceive based on filtering and observe based on "what we learned" and DO shape what is further observed. As long as the rule is in place, we have degrees of freedom.

For instance, what goes around comes around so don't go murdering if you desire sound peeaceful sleep. Fractals show how there is an order to life that is repeated in trees, people and planets. Change is the only constant. Therefore we have constraints AND the possibilities.

The problem with people is that we have limited our contexts about life trying to keep things "constant" IMO. We teach the children to become "good citizes" of a fantasy of "sameness".

Given that we have so far removed the capacity to discern what is true in the blurr of what we are "taught", we are miserably tied to authority and lost without someone to "guide" us.

There is a developmental stage where people sort out "need for authority" and "herd mentality" (happens in the teens I think). This seems like the stage of making sense of "order and chaos".

LV has presented that she and J have encouraged their own children to be independent and there is still a leaning towards deferring to "authority". It may just be a necessary phase?

Personally I have no children so cannot speak to the role of parenting. If I were a parent, I would prefer to keep my children safe enough through child hood to then be mature enough later to make wise decisions about choices. I believe I would encourage open and considerate dialog about "rule" and try not to make a rebellious child from my own fears.

That is what I see for me... fear and rebellion arise from the same place. One need not rebel against what is a nonissue. That is MY trite contribution to understanding the world of law and order today.

    ReplyDelete
  183. No, Maggie, the tea thing title was actually "Rules." Idiocracy was what it all sounded like to me.

"If I were a parent, I would prefer to keep my children safe enough through child hood to then be mature enough later to make wise decisions about choices."

I think most of us would. I know I would. But not teal. She thinks children should be free to risk death and crippling injury so that they can learn from the consequences of those actions. What one learns from dying in a stupid accident, I'm not sure. I'd say it's a lesson they take to the next life but teal doesn't believe that our past lives have any bearing on our current ones so that's not her point, either. In fairness, she made her point. It's better that some kids should die than deny the kids who would merely injure themselves the life lesson. She states that quite plainly.

I gotta tell ya, though. As I try to contextualize what she's saying with the rest of her "teachings" I'm just more and more confused. I mean this is a woman who says that childhood trauma is responsible for ALL our adult issues. I can't help wondering how the child of a parent who stands idly by and waits for him to burn himself by sticking his hand into hot coals, or electrocute himself by sticking a fork in a toaster, or nearly drowns from reckless pool behavior, should that child survive, would feel as an adult. I think that kind of neglect would be traumatic. I think that child might just feel like their parent didn't love him enough to protect him from injury. I know that in the cases where my mother, my grandparents, my aunt, my uncle, scolded me for doing something risky, I may have felt startled and shamed by the scolding, but I was very soon grateful for not being dead. I know that if my mother had just stood there when I was doing something stupid, and I'd gotten hurt, and then my mother had said, "Betcha won't do that again," I would have felt really betrayed. I think that would have effected me hella more than the initial jolt of being corrected.

  186. Noncast: Idiocracy Addendum

One of the other things my husband and I discussed did not make it into the noncast because there are only so many hours in the day and too many of them are spent decoding teal's nonsense already. In retrospect, I think it's kind of an important point.

One of the places where teal's brand of lawlessness has been tried is in the financial markets, where Libertarian think-tanks pushed hard for massive deregulation and achieved it. Markets are self-correcting and financial wheeler-dealers would regulate themselves just fine because the cause/effect ratio would be obvious. "Enlightened self-interest" would cause them to act in ways that were mutually beneficial and benefit the world economy over-all.

It was an unmitigated disaster. They broke the world. They plunged us into a world-wide recession -- some say depression -- that we still have not recovered from. No one was more shocked than one of the primary architects of this catastrophe, Ayn Rand acolyte Alan Greenspan.

"The retired chairman has had to revise his views. In comments at a New York Economic Club dinner late Tuesday, the retired Fed chairman steered clear of much self-reflection on his role in the credit boom. But he did take a new swipe at the market’s self-correcting tendencies and bowed his head to a new period of increased regulation. (See C-Span video.)

'All of the sophisticated mathematics and computer wizardry essentially rested on one central premise: that enlightened self interest of owners and managers of financial institutions would lead them to maintain a sufficient buffer against insolvency by actively monitoring and managing their firms’ capital and risk positions,' the Fed chairman said. The premise failed in the summer of 2007, he said, leaving him 'deeply dismayed.'"

This point is so important. Neglect is much more common than overt abuse. My childhood was epitomized by parents too self absorbed to care what happened to anyone else. I feel strongly that parenting is not a right but a privilege. The primitive idea is that children are commodities and belongings to be treated as property.

IMO looking at the statistics that people have more children when the expectation is that they will not survive. IMO IF people take on conscious parenting, they decide to be pre-emptive about known threats and proactive with teaching. They antcipate the environment and teach and guide because they honor the children as separate worthwhile beings they respect.

My friend Elaine is a great mother. She was neglected and suffers the results of abuse that happened when no one was watching to make sure she was protected. She told me the other day that she decided when she found herself pregnant to learn from what happened and not see this repeated.

She has treated her children like people and everyday since they were born, there is daily family time talking about life and guided exploration. So she is an exemplar of "rules" that are embedded in understanding of the principles. She and her husband taught the babies to swim. The family goes campingto learn about the woods. The pets in the house were not left to be wild but the whole family participates in animal communication.

My friend and her husband both work but they made sure that the collective babysitting was a community enterprise so she took care of the kids of parents who cared for heres.

This is conscious and Teal is so unconscious...otherwise I believe she would cringe at what she "teaches".

I gather more and more that Teal is doing something like "repetition compulsion" on a collective scale. She may deep down hope the whole world shares her own pain...calling that LOA.

"Repetition compulsion is a psychological phenomenon in which a person repeats a traumatic event or its circumstances over and over again. This includes reenacting the event or putting oneself in situations where the event is likely to happen again. This "re-living" can also take the form of dreams in which memories and feelings of what happened are repeated, and even hallucination.

The term can also be used to cover the repetition of behaviour or life patterns more broadly: a "key component in Freud's understanding of mental life, 'repetition compulsion'...describes the pattern whereby people endlessly repeat patterns of behaviour which were difficult or distressing in earlier life." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Repetition_compulsion

  188. "I gather more and more that Teal is doing something like 'repetition compulsion' on a collective scale. She may deep down hope the whole world shares her own pain...calling that LOA."

I think you could be right.

Your friends sound like really cool people. And you're right. Parental neglect is a major issue. Most abused kids are also neglected and both leave scars, physical and emotional. But to hear teal tell it, these things are nothing compared to being expected, as a toddler, to get your own juice. That's the real trauma. Wow.

I know my daughter would not have made it if I hadn't been a proactive parent. She spent much of her toddlerhood trying to do impossible things, like climb lamps. Or jump from the back of the couch to the lamp. That was a good one. She loved to climb... and explore physics by trying to pull heavy objects onto herself.

I spent a lot of her early childhood running around and screaming, "Oop, p, p, p, d, d, d, put that down! Put that down!" My husband would come home and find me slumped in a chair, drooling on myself from the exhaustion. She was just a smart, curious child, and smart, curious children get themselves killed if they aren't supervised.

Like there was the time she somehow got hold of the cord for the power strip behind the entertainment center. She'd dragged it out and was merrily pulling all the plugs out. I screamed very loudly. This is the kind of thing that would happen if I turned my back for a minute. She also used to pry the plug protectors out of the outlets. So that was fun.

So I took her to Babies R Us to see if there was something to childproof a power strip. Turns out there is. It's a big, clunky, hideous thing, but well worth it. But there I was wandering around with Miss Grabby Hands in her stroller. I finally find the new assortment of childproofing accoutrement I'd discovered the need for, and I look down at her and say, "Where are your shoes?!"

The clever girl had figured out the buckles. I had to go all the way through the whole store again and found where someone had helpfully put them together and placed them on a lower shelf.

Kids are a handful, some more than others. It's not an easy job raising them. But leaving them to their own devices is not an option if you expect them to survive.

  189. I was involved in the past with a group of people calling themselves alchemists. Two of the main contributors in the group happened to live near me and I went to a conference that happened to be near me where I met them and others. This is as misguided a group as any I have seen. It is full of narcissists and people selling "cures" and the promoters are miserably failing themselves IMO.

Just as looking at Teal is a puzzlement of someone announcing self as a spiritual avatar but teaching nonsense, then displaying personally failure to live well, these two men living near me failed IMO to present the true sense of what I consider alchemy to be (transmuting their own energies so that leaden qualities change consciously to gold).

The news I hear in the last two weeks of the results of their own attention led one to suicide and the other to jail. The one who suicided had chronic pain managed by pain killers. He was morose and morbid and preoccupied by conspiracy stories and belief in attack. He depended on his friend to house him. his friend was tired of the dependency.

The other man is a believer in the mass media new age spiritual world view but personally bitchy and mean spirited. This man called his property a native American sponsored church and grew pot in his yard. I do not think he actually informed the local authorities of the activities at the house. They made alchemies using chemicals. Both have expressed anger over the Powers That Be.

The owner of the house raised the rent on his dependent friend and apparently rather than take reponsibility and move, the former man shot himself. I consider this an act of rage really and it led to serious problems for the home owner.

When the police came and found chemicals in the house and pot plants, they arrested the owner. He was beat up in jail and this may effect his life ongoing.

This is to me a real time story about how our beliefs and failure to live up to the "rule" of life will screw us up. If the home owner had been more transparent with his activities in the community by creating proactive relationships with the "law" and more proactively compassionate rather than acting abruptly when he was fed up with his "friend" (kindness can set limits for sure), maybe this outcome of death and legal entanglement would have been avoided? I do think it would have been.

People can change their experiences but cannot change them while thinking and behaving in ways that predictably lead to familiar hateful results. I know from my asoiciation that these two men had a perception of themselves and the world where victims are persecuted. They did not follow "alchemy" as real inner power to act in new ways but made potions purported to be external agents.

Teal and all who are misguided and claim to know something, when it is not the case, do themselves the greatest injury. Others who may follow them may be injured but most will come and go. These false teachers remain in the consequences of their own ideas.

I think of justice being personal because the one who acts bears the responsibility. I depend on the idea that when we act in a way that is healthy and follows the rule of life, we will have beneficial results. We change the world except by our own contribution. We are able to make new choices when we know we may.

  191. These guys sound like right nutters. And it sounds like their spiritual beliefs were used to justify rather than guide their behavior. Seems like there's a lot of that going around.

  194. LaVaughn, I sure do hope you and your husband keep your non-casts going. They are the most entertaining thing for me on Sunday nights since Game of Thrones ended! I look forward to them every week :) You and your husband sound like a good team. Your sense of humor is spot on and from those choice quotes of his you shared, your husband sounds like a crack up!! I would much rather see you and your husband doing a Tea thingy and see first hand the hilarity that ensues when you two team up together.

I still can't bring myself to watch anything with Teal in it, and to say that Sarbdeep bugs me would be an understatement.. If I take Teal and Sarbdeep's relationship at face value (i.e. assuming that he isn't her mk ultra handler), then it seems to me that Sarbdeep is rather impulsive thinking more with the head between his legs right now, than the head that is on his shoulders... I think GA is right that the relationship has a good potential for BURN OUT... One could only hope they do refrain from having children together after hearing Teal's horrific child rearing philosophies... It's a wonder Teal's son is even still alive. After hearing her ridiculously immature ideas about parenting, it is obvious she doesn't do much of the heavy lifting when it comes to child rearing. FWIW, I think Sarbdeep just seems like a lost little boy with a savior complex when it comes to TEAL, and I don't think he is nearly as classy, intelligent, masculine, or impressive as he likes to lead others to believe.... Nice clothes, a posh accent, political diplomacy, and taking Ayahuasca with Stuart Wilde DOES NOT make him an emotionally mature or spiritually wise man in my estimation...
